HTC Q1 profits up 19% year-over-year

Today, HTC reported its 2010 Q1 earnings, and the vitals from the mobile handset giant all seem to be positive. Q1 revenues jumped 19% from Q1 of last year to $1.2 billion, with a net profit of $158 million and earnings per share at $0.20. The positive numbers prompted investment firm Morgan Stanley to raise HTC’s stock price target and firm Goldman Sachs to renew its “buy” rating on the stock. Revenue was down 8% from Q4 of last year, however that isn’t out of the ordinary as Q4 includes the holiday buying season. Anyone out there have plans to pick up a new HTC phone soon?  Incredible? EVO? Bueller?

Nexus One with WebOS? Potential jizz, though I think I’ll stick with android for a while.

If they don’t release the HTC Incredible soon, I’m gonna blow a gasket. I want that phone so bad, and I’ve had blue balls over since Black Friday 2009. Release it, Verizon!

At least HTC can get their units with wifi to work properly, unlike Apple with the iPad.

@Nancy. Just read an article by the owner of techcrunch.com ( a true techi) He said His ipad would only work if very close to his router, but his nexus one had no problem with wifi anywhere in his house.

Check out the EVO next to a 3GS, it makes the 3GS look like something from 2006. I will def pick up an EVO, I have no issues with the network. I can use HD recording and 8MP cam, I don’t need 400,000 iphone apps, I would barely use them.

The android market will only get larger and better, you definitely won’t need Iphone apps.

    • NEEDMYDROID

thats because the design is from 2006 lol

O and don’t forget 8 devices on hot spot for free…. at&t, when and if the new iphone has hot spot they will charge 30 a month for it. No thanks

Just bought a Nexus One when it came out with AT&T 3G so I’m good on HTC phones for a while. But I can see why their profits are going up. They’re making amazing phones!

Can’t wait to get my hands on the EVO. I need it!

  • firemanprice

@ Channan, yes the N1 is a nice phone, but it’s not better than the Droid. Until they get the multi touch fix for the screen it will always be in 2 place. Now as for the Sprint Evo, I can’t wait to see this phone. With all it’s specs it should be the number 1 Android on the market. BUT it probably won’t. The only 1 thing that will hurt it is, it’s on Sprint. The worst no I take that back they are a little better than metro pcs. However I can say I do see Sprint trying to improve there service. Now put the Evo on Verizon network, my Droid can hang it up, and pass the crown.

Its crazy how theres still people out there with a Death Grip on their MOGULS..Lol. That says alot. I wont Lie, my original HTC Touch is still preserved nicley in the box in case sumthin happens to my TP2 yet when the Evo is Released or perhaps a Qwerty Variant of it my TP2 will do just fine as a hand me down.

HTC puts features in phones that people want and dream of…Apple Tells you what you want in a Phone and makes you wait a Year as they consider 1 or 2 adds. In the long run, HTC Phones will last longer than the IPhone..they just gotta bear through the bullshit.
