Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 rumored to launch on Rogers within two weeks

Rumor

se-xperia-x10

Although interest in it seems to have declined, thanks to this week’s official confirmation that multitouch will never be a feature of the device due to a hardware limitation, that’s hardly going to stop Rogers from aggressively pushing the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10. According to MobileSyrup, a site that has a pretty squeaky clean track record, Rogers has narrowed down the release window for the Android smartphone to the week of April 7th to 14th and assigned tentative pricing — which could be as low as $149.99 on contract. Rogers had previously stated it would offer pre-orders, something which has yet to happen, but with a release that is potentially within six days we’d think they better get a move on it before peoeple’s eyes start to wander elsewhere.

    This phone makes me drool.

this phone is dated before release.

I agree, they announced it, kept delaying it, only offering 1.6 instead of at least 2.0 (who knows if or when it will get an upgrade). They waited too long. HTC is running circles around them.

        DOA.

        Harsh but come on.

    • Lime

The phone isnt outdated before release just because the OS is.

does anyone know if its coming to the US and on Tmobile ? My only concern with this phone is I love it but its very low on Ram compared to the Nexus one and EVO any thoughts ?

  • MobileGuru

    That’s one sexy ass phone

  • Nico

No Multitouch ever. And launching with only 1.6. The rest of the specs are quite good. Just not sure I should compromise. Rogers could end up releasing something I do want, like the Desire, Galaxy S or Galaxy S Pro. Decisions, decisions…

DOA. May it rest in peace.
Seriously Sony Ericsson what the hell? Delays on X2 and X10 are only hurting you. I seriously considered both of these phones as I was a very pleased W600 owner back in the days. These devices are very dated. Get your shit right. Bet we will see a Sony Ericsson W7PS device in 2012 at this rate.

This is a serious disappointment considering it could have been the flagship Android device in Canada had it been released much earlier.

Now I’m just hoping that one of the HTC Desire, Legend, or Evo will make its way North of the border on Rogers.

They announce the X10 and then take forever to release it. They then proceed to not include multitouch hardware and release an outdated OS version. They also failed with the Xperia X1 which didn’t get an update to WM 6.5 (they just made a delayed X2 instead). Meanwhile HTC keeps (quickly) releasing products with better specs and features. Same old SE so I’ll pass.

This use to be the phone to wait on before the end of last year now I predict that this phone will do dismal numbers…no multi-touch and no eclair…man what a turn off…SE straight up dropped the ball on taking forever with this phone…this coulda competed with nexus one and droid like I own but now its all about the EVO…

    • g

xactly…. I cant want for the EVO. I’m kinda scared of sprint, i hear awful things about their service but I think i’m gonna have to take a chance… that phone seriously looks amazing!

      • GeneralZod

I had Sprint when they released the first Samsung Instinct which they never fully supported and was total garbage. The customer service was awful and they wouldn’t work with me to find a solution for the non-functional Instinct. I paid the ETF and went to iT&T no contract. Now even I’m considering going back to them because of the EVO 4G but I’ll wait for initial reactions this time. No more early adoption for me. I’ll wait at least 3 months after release.

    too little too late

Never had an s-e phone. have been tempted before, but didnt. This phone looks really nice, but sounds like the backflip, outdated before launch.

I have it on good authority that best buy mobile Canada will start offering pre orders April 2

    Posted from BGR Mobile (iPhone).

  • windontree

Hey SONY, it’s Android 2.0 or 2.1 otherwise interest and phone sales die quickly.

  • Matt

Palm and Sony Ericsson should merge into one big company of FAIL!

  • http://xperiax10phone.com XMan

X10 has pre ordered 10k phone in Japan. Rogers is joining with others to start without Sony Ericssons push.

  • Nico

I may end up getting this phone. I won’t be wasting my HUP on it though, that’s for sure. Hopefully I can get a BNIB or LNIB for less than $400. I’ll save my HUP for a better Android. Like the Desire or Galaxy S. C’mon Rogers, get one of those phones….please.
