  • WOW!

And the upgrade comes with a free snow tiger cub vanity pet!!!

    Woot!!

Oh, I guess I’ve been playing too much WoW….

    Sorry…

  • betchplz

Thank GOD because 10.6.2 is a horrible force closed nightmare.. scratch that, actually 10.6 is a horrible nightmare. What a terrible update to Leopard.

Let’s see if it fixes the “Finder cannot be found” messages and the “Bluetooth Exchange/Activity Monitor” etc. has unexpectedly quit.. oh yeah and the STILL occuring random log outs! I thought a fresh install would fix my problems but they’re all still here..
    iThanks Apple for that.

How often don’t you check your permissions in disk utility?

If a person cleans up their permissions every so often (especially before you do software updates or installs) it will make your computing life much simpler.

Finder > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility= Problems prevented.

      • Dara

I don’t ever check my disk permissions. I just set them up once when installing an OS or hard drive.

But I use Windows or Linux, so I don’t need to worry about things like that, my computer just wor…..

        Wait a second….. What?

      • betchplz

No, repairing disk permissions will NOT solve these issues. Like I said, I did a fresh/clean install.. updated to 10.6.2 and the same problems still persist.

      • (The real Jarrett) Jarrett

So then you are looking at a plug-in or third party (software of some sort you downloaded) that is causing the issue. How old is your hard drive? I had a hard drive fail on my iMac about a year ago and it caused an array of system wide issues. I thought Leopard was going nuts, turns out just my platters were going nuts.
How does your install disc look?

Those are strange prompts though, honestly it is the first time I have seen or heard either. The bluetooth one is obviously a driver issure, have you search Apple’s download page for information on the latest bluetooth drivers?

      • betchplz

I don’t have to explain myself to someone that wants to act like Apple’s OS is without issue, as if me clearly stating that I reinstalled the OS and the problems still persist isn’t enough. What’s next? Are you going to claim I’m running a Hackintosh?

        @ Betchplz

Wow, sorry for trying to help you there sir/ma’am. All I said is I haven’t heard of these particular issues. I keep my system fairly well maintained. Honestly, I suppose in the short of it I really don’t care, I just thought I would try to help. As I have stated many times in here, no one can make an operating environment user proof, not even Apple.
What it comes down to is this. Since lterally less than .0001% of Snow Leopard users have faced these same issues means that it isn’t a problem caused by the system software. It clearly states that the end user had caused this affect. I tried to give you information to look into. If you don’t want to fix the problem, don’t. But why would you continue to bitch about the problem if you are content with it?

      • None

        @betchplz

        Overreact much!

      • betchplz

Ha! Less than 1%? Are you insane? I wonder why 10.6.3 has a laundry list of fixes.. for that same less than 1% of people experiencing problems? It’s amazing that Apple has this software that experiences less problems than their own hardware. Get real and stop stroking Apple off.

    • Snowman

Nothing is perfect…..I can tell you right now beside some lag when opening multiple draining applications at once….I have no complaints with my Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard…..maybe you just have a bad unit or maybe you have done something to your computer to affect it negatively. Either way, Apple still makes the best computers out there hands down and it’s nice to see a company show in such details are there fixes.

    • Kyle

I had a few issues with 10.6 when it initially launched with Photoshop CS4, however the issue was resolved with the 10.6.1 update. Since then, my computer has been running wonderfully, and it is incredibly fast.

  • Jdizzle

    Give me head

  • AusFest

Fuck Apple. Give me an Ipad with Android and 2 foot dildo up my ass.

    • Jon

Two foot dildo up your ass… you mean fuck you?

  • Tdot34

Bug fixes… but the Apple Fanboi’s claim Mac’s never have problems

    • (The real Jarrett) Jarrett

As I stated above, as long as you do a permissions repair occassionally (before software updates and software installs) you literally have very few problems. Of course I have only been using OS X since it’s launch, so I might not be an authority on the topic.

As any Windows user knows, as long as you keep you system in “check” your system will treat you pretty good. Of course, admittedly, I remember my last use of Windows (98) took a little more care than what OS X has taken.

All in what you want I suppose.

  • KWARE84

To anybody that can help. I just bought a macbook pro for my wife and when she watches any videos online (youtube for the most part) the flash player plug-in crashes probably 85% of the time. I deleted the plug-in then downloaded it again and the problem still exists. She will be going off to Iraq soon and I want to upload videos via youtube for her to see our children. Has anybody else had this problem? If so, Did you resolve thee issue? Thank you in advance.

    • (The real Jarrett) Jarrett

Just click on the HTML5 beta link on YouTube’s home page. That will fix the problem. Have her install click to flash and she will save a little bit on the battery side as well.

      • KWARE84

Thank you very much. We will give it a try.

    • Delusion FTL

Honestly yes, for an executive in the office. And the resolution was to install windows 7 on his macbook. Problem(s) solved and we have a happy exec again.

  • (The real Jarrett) Jarrett

Also, to aleviate Adobe and their lack of 64 bit support you can open Finder> Safari and then click on “more info”. A drop down menu will appear and you will see a box already checked “64 bit” below that will be a box “32 bit”. Click on the 32 bit box and then reinstall the Adobe plug-in. She will be able to watch all her shows and play on her games. Like the hacker world trying to find an in the wild virus that will acutally be affective with regards to Mac OS, Adobe is unable (Lazy) in regards to porting their software (on any platform) with any sort of speed.

As stated above though, YouTube has an HTML 5 beta that you can active by just clicking on the link and then you and your wife can be Adobe problem free.

It is amazing that people give credit for explaining the bug fixes. last I checked every OS weather Mac or PC explains what they are fixing! this isn’t anything Apple invented that anyother software company does when they release an update!

It broke Quicksilver for me… :(

  • Matthew Landry

So far it’s been great, I mean, I didn’t have any problems to begin with in Snow Leopard, but it works just as well as it did before. Actually, I noticed my Core i7 iMac boot up a little faster after the install, cool.

  • iJarrett

Steve Jobs can do no wrong.

it seems you can’t scroll through the last spaces anymore – I mean, when in screen 3 for instance, you can only get back to 2 and not back to 1 ( if 3 is the last “space”) Very annoying!
