Paid apps tipped to land in international Palm App Catalog next week

WebOS devices have long since extended their reach beyond the cozy confines of United States, but unfortunately paid apps have yet to be made available as they are in the US. This could all change in one week’s time, however, as Palm has notified developers that they will be able to sell apps through the App Catalog in Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Mexico and Spain starting on the 31st of March. If all goes according to plan, a large number of paid apps will be available on day one simply because Palm has made it easy for developers to get in on the international market: resubmit the app, check off where you want it to be sold and relax while the app is rushed through the approval process.

I hope theres an app of a jack in the box with a boxing glove, that punches steve jobs over and over, while he screams, Im suing Im suing.

    • (The real Jarrett) Jarrett

Yeah, that is right, Steve Jobs is to blame for Palm’s failure. If Palm would just release a large screen touch phone they may save themselves from death for a little longer. Great software + crap hardware = going out of business.

Did I say he was? No, This blog is about apps, and I said this would be a great app. you sure like to twist things.

      • (The real Jarrett) Jarrett

Is it that I like to twist things, or that most people don’t explain things very well? Okay, so it is an App, what would make it such a great App? Punching a cancer and transplant survivor in the face? You have certainly had someone in your family die of something, would you like to see the same App with their face as the punching bag?

As a matter a fact, my dad had a stroke yesterday. I am a surgical tech and do cancer and liver surgery all the time. an app like this is no different than the ones joking about our presidents or other powerfull people. or the walker texas ranger jokes etc, lighten up. thats how people in healthcare deal with death on a daily basis, they have to have a sense of humor or it eats us alive. Ive done many liver surgeries on young and indigent children, so dont go there.

Also, this blog is about technology, this thread is about Apps. Again, understanding is important when making a statement.

        SUBWAY, Eat Fresh!

Okay, this is good then. Just send a developer a picture of your father when he was at his worst. Give them specific instructions on how you want your beloved father to be punched repeatedly by numerous people for their enjoyment. Sound like a great App right? Surely you can appreciate that their are a number of sick fuckers like you out there that think that would be funny? Hell, consult with your Dad about it, surely he should have a say, since it would be his likeness getting punched. Do you get it yet, do you realize that you should have posted something different? If I haven’t made you feel like an inhuman dick yet just let me know, I have a few more minutes of time to kill before I get on with my afternoon.

        You’re a douche

Every time I see a WebOS screenshot, I can’t help but notice how attractive the UI looks.

Too bad the hardware doesn’t do it for me.

    • (The real Jarrett) Jarrett

Exactly, it’s the hardware that is killing Web OS.

  • T-Monster

I have helped save many lives in the last 23 years, many of them innocent young children, maybe if you,ve seen what ive seen and had kids die right in front of your face you would understand that you either have a sense of humor or go insaine. I am an extremily compassionate person. I sleep very well at night. If you came into my o.r. I would treat you with kids gloves. thats who I am.

    • (The real Jarrett) Jarrett

Okay, so what makes it funny to have an App with the purpose of inflicting punishment on one of your patients. Sure, different face, but still a patient no?

      • (The real Jarrett) Jarrett

Why not have one of those kids faces on the App?

      • T-Monster

maybe you should have watched more road runner and bugs bunny as a child.

    • Batman

T-Monster, dont let Jarrett get to you. He’s a troll that thinks he knows more than everyone else. Always on here saying his opinions. Sometimes its good, sometimes its bad, but most of the time nobody cares. I wouldnt loose any sleep over it.

      • Gregory

Isn’t that the point of a comments section, for people to express their opinions…? So, now people who express their opinions on here, are trolls to you if you don’t like the opinion. GOTCHA!

      • Dave

Pretty Much, if your gonna come on here and be a dick.

  • It&t

Never cared for their designs much.

  • Htc Fan

Would it be worth somones while to buy them just for the o.s.?

  • Motoman

wonder if At&t will actually make things worse for them.

  • Jackson

    Htc:)

Seems like only yesterday they added a phone to the palm pilot. Seem like years ago they added a phone to the ipod.

That HTC “supersonic” is going 2 kill the iPhone/Nexus One this summer. It’ll be fun watching the 2 get some real competetion. Re: Palm, I was a die hard PALM fan…they just didn’t innovate in time and produced half ass hardware. Their UI is still beautiful, maybe they have a chance 2 get out of their grave still :)

  • ernurse760

    DITTO…Jackson!!!

HTC…CAN’T WAIT TILL SUMMER….any pricing hints???

  • ceeaser28

well its not the hardware its the fanboys, because I have had every phone, and i have to say the pre design is not bad at all. I have a pre myself (overclocked to 800mhz though) and its very usable, I see why they tried this design. the reason it doesnt get the love it deserves is because the market has been flooded with the same ole android garbage with the same slate like design. Though I won’t mind a 1ghz webos phone with a 3.7 inch screen running wimax 4g (hint hint new phone coming to sprint this fall hint hint) but who am I, beside another happy pre owner.
