CTIA10

Hello from sunny Sin City! We rolled into Las Vegas, NV yesterday to cover this years CTIA Wireless convention — and what an event it should be. With thousands of companies hawking their wireless warez and goodies, we’ll have to be honest… we’re pretty stoked. The conference officially kicks off tomorrow so sit back relax and keep your browser on BGR, we’ll be pounding Red Bull and sprinting around the 2.3 million square-feet of the Las Vegas Convention Center like Usain Bolt in no time.

I want some more info on the abomination bberry slider.

  • VZW IS THE BEST

VZW IS THE BEST! BEST HANDSETS! BEST COVERAGE! AND CLEALY LEADING THE WAY INTO THE FUTURE WITH LTE!

    • Droiddog

VZW ust to be the best but now they have fallen behind in plans and technology. My friend has sprint and he pays less than me and can roam on the same network i use for free. It seems like im just paying to have a vzw logo on my phone.

      • VZW IS THE BEST

The world is moving to LTE and only sprint is moving to WiMax…BluRay vs HD-DVD ..only a matter of time before Sprint falls completely through the floor.

      • Trailer Park Trash Collector

Us trailer park guys need Sprint to survive…we need our Boost Mobile!

      • Droiddog

I doubt they fall through the floor because they have such ahead start on us, also tmobile is jumping on the clearwire wagon also. The ceo of clearwire said that the 4g network can be swithched to lte in a matter of months if it become more popular. Im pretty sure thes guys thought this out already though!

      • sprint user

If you look at the rest of the world they are all using WiMax and not LTE, most europe and south america are using WiMax, So I think that VZW is going to down, not Sprint. Before you make statements like that do some research. And dont embarrass yourself.

I’m on Verizon and plan on staying there, but if you argue that they have the best phones, your insane. I’ve been on the damn Voyager (supposed iphone killer of yesteryear) for 2 years now. I have my NewAny2 but am waiting for a phone to my liking. The Droid was a nice start, but Verizon needs to get off their ass if they want to brag about their phone lineup.

      • Gadget Girl

        So true. me too!!!!!!!

  • IT&T

Sprint is so awful. Come to Verizon and have a DROID rammed up your ass like me!

    • Droiddog

I think my Droid is already outdated..it seems like a better droid comes out every three months!!

  • @rellyonsmash

a lot of hype is going on for the incredible…SHEESH

im just interested in seeing more info on the supersonic….and hopefully by summer…a version for verizon is released

  • jerbear

it’s all bout the supersonic. Cheap plans, 4g, 4.3″ amoled, android…droool.

sure verizon and att will have LTE next year but I’ve been getting around 5-7mbps on wimax since 2008 so that is what I will use now. In 2 years if there is better and competitvely priced competing tech I will check it out but next month I’ll be getting unlimited 4g on my supersonic while att and vzw are still charging $50 more per month for the same plan on 3g.

    • Scott

Well, if could get WiMax in my city, then I’d use it and drop my cable internet at home. However, even though I live in the 5th biggest city in the US (Phoenix), there is still no WiMax, nor have I seen a date for this year.

  • chad

get the dirty on the next webos device please

  • savvyray

HTC desire on ATT please. That is all I care about. So that if that is not going to happen I can re think my strategy.

I hope this CTIA is “Incredible” if you know what I mean.

  • Don Louie

I think Sprint is going to steal the show, it was too quiet at the last two affairs. Palm has laid really low too, 4G and Web OS will be the “it” words with the CDMA carriers leading the way.

  • JFritz

    @Nick,

this is gonna sound lame but I’m really hoping it’s gonna be “supersonic” if you ask me!

    Posted from BGR Mobile (iPhone).

    • Nick

My contract with Verizon is up so this lil conference could help me decide where to go from here. That android powered 4.3 snapdragon beast does sound interesting.

  • Chris

Hey BGR thanks for being and updating us at CTIA. I wanted to ask what type of internet connection do you guys get at CTIA? Do you guys use Their Wifi, or do they provide you with ethernet, or do you guys use your own data connect cards (if so what company)?

    Thanks.

  • Jasperzz

Anything about a new iPhone? =)

  • MobileGuru

I also think Sprint & Palm are up to something big. I want the specs on the palm C40. Sprint is getting some real nice phones.

  • @rellyonsmash

when’s the flash update coming for android?

  • Shitfuck

    N1 or incredible hmmmmmm

  • chingy

vzw is absolutely killin me with their line up,cost, and a new network no one uses. talk about arrogance, the CEO must love the smell of his own farts.

this is a bit of a culture shock for me. i wonder what us everyone in a hurry for anyhow, some things, like wine, are better appreciated with more time. where is this technology leading us? what are we all becoming? big brother now knows where everyone butt is 24/7 – people are walking around psychological absent of their immediate surroundings more and more. more textual infidelity. did anyone see the matrix? btw, the devour looks like a nexus killer… haha, i’m starting to pick up on the matrix lingo fast. that songs, i think i am turning japanese, now i comes to mind. does anyone care if a product is made in america anymore? the next phone name i think should be called “the black hole”. it’s up for grabs, with motorola giving the first right of refusal. just give me a bit of credit in the future, i’ve been shy before to claim my 10 minutes of fame.
