Sprint Touch Pro2 to get Windows Mobile 6.5 update tomorrow

HTC Touch Pro2 users on Sprint should stock up on party hats and streamers as the Now Network is gearing up for a Friday release of the long overdue software update to Windows Mobile 6.5. To be available through both the Sprint and HTC websites, the update will finally bring Sprint’s Touch Pro2 up to snuff with that of AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon handsets, the last of which received its update back in January. Thanks, Sprint. For a moment there we thought you forgot all about this.

    Who cares! 6.5 and 6.1 are no different so many steps for one simple task. LMAO!

    @droiding, there is a very large difference from 6.1 and 6.5, ive been using a mightyrom verison of 6.5 for months now and it is a very large improvement over 6.1

    This upgrade will only be a win of it comes with Sense UI 2.5.

    I don’t know that I really care… I just need a basic phone that I can make calls on… I am a social recluse / outcast (depends on whom you ask) so I don’t care about the social networking components. I’m more excited that I have Ubuntu running on the phone… but I like 6.1 well enough to possibly not bother.

    Am I missing anything?
    The phone in the picture is original TP (with d-pad); in addition, which 6.5 version will be released?
    6.5.3 has OK button on the bottom-right and Start on bottom-left.
    The big plus of 6.5 is the menu, you can drag and drop the icons (or simply tap and hold and place the icon to the top).

    The question is…is it 6.5 or 6.5.3? If its just 6.5 then I’ll stick with Mighty Rom WAR! As far as Windows 7… already heard that it will not be available for the TP2. It’s only for the new phones coming out! ASt least thats what I read on PPC Geeks. Let’s hope we get the 6.5.3 Rom from sprint. It’s alot better!!!

    Why would you guys wait for that sprint ROM update…. I think NRG makes better Roms and with much better speed. I’ve been using his Roms from months now and its fantastic. Sprint Rom would not be better than NRG’s Rom even if its out.
    I will suggest you guys just stop waiting and get yourself a better Rom and please don’t be deceived by that word OFFICIAL…. Its just a crap. Trust me.
