So much for yesterday’s pricing revelation as today T-Mobile released the Motorola CLIQ XT with a price tag that is $30 higher than expected. Available on Even More plans for $129.99 and Even More Plus for $329.99, the CLIQ XT is still attractively priced considering some the rather positive early reviews it received. Of course, there are naturally going to be some stragglers who hold out on the CLIQ XT until Motorola delivers the Android 2.1 update it promised for all MOTOBLUR handsets back in January (the CLIQ XT ships with Android 1.5), but that can’t be too far away now… Or can it?

It still amazes me that a phone can be released today with 1.5. Not even 1.6. And 2.1 has been out for a couple of months now. The fragmentation needs to end! I’d hate to be a Dev. You have to support: 1.5, 1.6, 2.0.1, and 2.1.

If it gets 2.1, the I’ll pull the trigger to get this phone.

I’m sorry but Android will lose all of their consumers by the end of 2010 because of Blackberry.

    BB will prevail

See what too much green beer does to you….

Um Steven, Didnt you just switch to a Droid?

“Flash-enabled”, but Android 1.5? I thought Flash didn’t run on Android yet?

T-Mobile I’m going to need you to step your Android game up….and soon. I’m NOT replacing my G1 with this thing.

Why don’t you get the DROID DEVOUR instead? It has a physical keyboard that you definitely need because you no one is good enough to just use a touch screen. Also you get the most colored in map out there. At&t’s map is baby blue too because they are a bunch of babies compared to big strong red verizon!

Because this is GSM, which is the world standard, and no one wants to be raped by Verizon, you overpay, can’t change your phone at a moment’s whim, and HSPA is faster than EVDO. Don’t be fooled by Verizon’s distorted 3G coverage map. No one lives in Fargo, North Dakota or some small town in Wyoming to care about 3G coverage.

For real, what if you were a phone collecter on verizion? Good morning. I would like to use my moto today. Ok says the agent, that will be a $30 activation fee and it should be on in a few hours . Luv ya Latoya, you never hold back:)

Good Morning Verizion, Im going on a trip to berlin and prauge, What do I need to do? well sir, you will need to buy a gsm phone and a sim card when you get there.

not only is this some seriously out dates software, but even the hardware is ridiculously stale. the same screen resolution as a G1, same processor as a G1, etc etc. I don’t know how Moto gets away with this crap on T-mobile when the Verizon devices are so superior.
