BlackBerry 9900/9930 slider hitting Sprint?

Breaking

One of our solid connects told us some pretty interesting information regarding the BlackBerry slider device.

According to them, the device actually failed in early diagnostic testing a whopping 4 out of 5 times (which is supposed to be extremely rare for RIM devices). The only other handset that failed, we’re told, is the BlackBerry Pearl Flip. What’s even more interesting, is that the BlackBerry slider our guy saw was Sprint branded. Want to go one step further? We’ve been told there is also a GSM/HSPA version and that the model numbers are BlackBerry 9900 and BlackBerry 9930. Lastly, it looks like the HSPA version of the device will support 850/1900MHz UMTS bands which would make it compatible with both AT&T and Rogers’ 3G networks.

Could Sprint be gunning for an exclusive on the brand new BlackBerry form factor? Our bets would be yes.

P.S. Our guy didn’t see the word “Bold” anywhere in relation to the sliding BlackBerry device.

Okay, seriously, the moderators need to do something about this “StevenGlansburg” guy. There is really no reason for comments such as his on a TECH BLOG.

What is the deal with these exclusive agreements. Its not the iphone you are selling. All these guys are the under dog, sell the damn thing at every place that will give you the time of day. Sell them in parking lots out the back of your car if you have to. The iPhone is the only phone worth an exclusive. I see it this way: Apple was sitting around and said we have such a great phone we will strip it of the basic phone features that people expect and sell it on the worst network maybe one going out of business and we will sell more phones than anyone and breath new life into that dying cell phone company. If you have a product like that get a really rich exclusive deal. Otherwise selling the damn thing everywhere and anywhere. Or you can follow Palm and Sprint watch the money burn. Its crazy RIM is going down the tube and Sprint too so they can be exclusive together. I was a BB fan. After the storm crap berry I decided their time had come and gone. They are old school and its over. The game has changed and RIM has seen its day. They keep changing the plastic hardware….. ITS THE OS! My advice cash out….merger

This is ugly. Horribly ugly, Come on BB, you guys can do better than this. Get us a true NO button touch screen. Kill the iphone.

“Kill the iPhone?” It can’t be done. You can only complement the iPhone.

I used to work at Verizon and I can tell you that their clientele is 80% rich white and or jewish people. Not 14yo girls. You have to have amazing credit to get verizon and an even better bank account to keep it. It’s the nations strongest network with the best coverage but also the biggest pricetag. I’m on sprint myself and like it that way. Iphones are for kids. Who needs that many games and “apps” that are just web browser links? I use my blackberry for business and that’s what it’s made for. Touch screen phones are a cool idea but very impractical and not at all durable. I’ve never seen a contractor with an iphone. Its really hard to drunk text on one as well. You need to constantly wash your hands to even use a touch screen.

Yeah, and the majority of Verizon’s clientele consist of 14 year girls with envy phones and are on mommy and daddy’s plan.

Wow, I didn’t know the BGR site was open for racism…
