Windows Phone 7 Video Demo

Microsoft’s Charlie Kindel was ambushed spoke with CNET on a quaint San Francisco sidewalk this week about Windows Phone 7 Series. Among the topics covered were Microsoft’s commitment to improving the developer experience with Windows Phone 7, Xbox Live integration in the new OS, and a few UI walk-throughs on a phone Kindel just happened to have in his pocket with WP7 on it. We’ve got the video for you after the break. The magic begins about two minutes into the video for those of you who are impatient.

Looks cool, I guess they can only go up from where they are now with the OS

“So what does this mean for the phone itself?”

The interviewer sounds like a total tool.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Steve Jobs had Charlie Kindel’s personality and willingness to share upcoming technology?

No, it would not be nice. Steve Jobs use to share upcoming technology. In fact, because he did so a certain company got into the OS business when previously they were only a programs company. Around 1982 or 1983 I believe.

The interviewer sounds like a total tool?? What the blazes does that mean? Like, are ya calling the dude a drill bit or a chisel or something? Yo bro…you’re a Craftsman power saw man! That always cracks me up whenever I hear someone get called a tool. LMAO! Whatever happened to dope or moron or better yet numbskull or nincompoop! But tool? Nah….

Oh yeah….I can’t wait to see the Zune phone powered by WP7….

its a typical windows fone. sure theyve changed the look and put a capacitive screen on it… it didnt seem very responsive and the start menu looked huge clunky and completely unattractive. did anyone else notice how big everything was and how hard it still was for him to get it to respond? i was curious to see what they were going to do with 7 but from the looks of it they might as well just give up now. theyre not even close to touching apple or android

Windows Phone 7 looks like the most promising available or soon-to-be-available platform.

This is the future. Get with it guys.

Still disliking it because like GM, all they’re selling is the brand and how you “feel and look” using it. We know that’s a fail strategy and totally insults WM users.

We’re a community that thrives on tech specs and details, and milking our device of all of its potential.

no mulitasking?? microsoft lost there innovative ways well then again then never had it..

I’m not feeling it at all. I want to the ability to customize my home screen not those huge tiles sliding up and down all the times. It’s kind of boring looking already. Any other videos that shows a different home screen??

PS: that’s a lot of swiping to get to do something.

Looks like a pretty cool device comparible to an android. Only question is.. WILL YOU BE ABLE TO SAVE ALL OF THEM COOL APPS TO A MEMORY CARD!!

just an observation please don’t hate, but, i think they might be following iphones formula,

    1. a side from saying that they would have phones with or with out a keyboard, they want a standard three buttons on all thier phones (all iphones have just the one button, thier standard)
    2. if they do this standard then it becomes easier for developers. currently if you develop for android or WM you have so many devices to consider, where iphone has just the one, i think this will make it more inviting to developers. and i imagine thats what microsoft is hoping for.

just my thoughts, i hope this new platform goes well for microsoft, i still think they have one of the most versitle os’s

Touchscreen phones are really nice because everything can be controlled by adaptive means, as such I like my Milestone a lot but I’m missing physical keys for menu navigation. Being forced to open the fone into landscape mode isn’t comfortable. This is why I think my next phone will be a BB, in couple of years of course unless my Motorola dies suddenly.
