webOS 1.4 update now out for Verizon customers

Yesterday, many Palm Pre owners were treated to an OS update that spanned the globe, except, unfortunately Verizon Wireless subscribers were left out. Luckily for you Palm-fanatics on Verizon, Verizon Wireless Pre Plus and Pixi Plus users are now free to get their webOS 1.4 freak on. Don’t forget to let us know how you’re loving that brand new update.

    Why isn’t there a virtual keyboard other than than the homebrew version? I just don’t get it….I want to buy this as I am very close to my upgrade date….

      virtual keyboard and voice commands are reportedly 30-60 days out from a source at Palm I talked to

        The Palm Pre Plus needs a memory card slot and more good usable apps then the phone will be more complete.

    I’m happy for all the Palm owners out there! I just really really wish the would release my droid os. Maybe it’s true what everone is saying about them not wanting to update it cause their network is struggling w/ all the Internet devices??

    Battery life has almost doubled for me. Palm Pixi used to need charging every day. Can now go 2 days without a charge. Haven’t really noticed any other major changes.

    The “droid” update will come out after verizon cripples the hell out of it. Not one second sooner! I should know, I have a whole stack of crippled bloated handsets I’m starring at… all from verizon. I’m done with them!!

      lol… if you still think Verizon cripples devices you are a twit. Anyhow, if anyone has researched enough, the update is coming VERY soon, possibly within the next week or 2, who knows. All I know is that a friend of mine is a Motorola developer and he’s running the final version on his as of now.

        Well, the manager at the pizza hut that’s next to the coporate verizon office said that he was told by the CEO of verizon wireless whilst he was eating stuffed crust said: ” we (verizon) need to have time to properly cripple and add our bloatware. However, unless someone buys us out we won’t be releasing anything because we’re bankrupt!”

    @it doesn’t work that way: WOW, you are delusional!!! Data and data enabled devices are a multi billion dollar a month industry. According to your thought process, all cell phone maunufacturers and carriers would only sell the “Jitterbug” phone… Quit trying to make excuses for verizons piss poor network!
