Video game makers could do us all a favor and stop charging $60+ for games, especially since most of them turn out being repetitive gameplay pieces of crap.

I got a PS3 for Christmas and bought the top 4 games – Modern Warfare 2, Assassin’s Creed 2, Uncharted 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum. Not a cheap buy….that’s over $270 in just games not to mention the cost of the PS3 Slim ($399), extra controller ($50) and the Blu-ray remote ($20). I mean…I can afford it but the number of people who can in this economy has dwindled drastically.
I understand R&D plays a role but if your game is good it will sell. Case in point the 2K Sports franchise was a huge success in their hayday and still managed to reap huge profits while only charging $40 for their games. Put EA’s NBA Live and Madden to shame lots of times.
Get back to basics….drop those outrageous prices. Sony FINALLY got a clue after spending the past 2 – 3 years behind Nintendo and Microsoft. they should have dropped the price of the PS3 much sooner…they’d be in much better shape today.

Number show that sales have gone down but the amount of video game piracy has gone up.

With anyone being able to download a game and burn it especially days if not weeks before it comes out, will have sales go down.

The only way they are going to fix this is with another price cut. The consoles are still way too expensive, for the hardware and software inside of them. That is probably why most people only own 1. Here’s a hell of an idea, quit using stupid proprietary crap that costs an arm and a leg to design and manufacture. If you used Readily available parts, the consoles would be much cheaper, and probably work much better, and the price would be much lower, meaning more sales. The fact that games come out new at $60 a piece, and six-9 months later, they are 1/3rd that cost is downright sad. What does that tell your game buyers? I know what it tells me “we are here to shaft you and make as much money possible, even if the game doesn’t deserve it. Then when we think we have enough money, we will cut the price so everyone goes out and buys our cheap game.”

Sometimes I like to take my Wii mote and smack it against my hard penis. It feels so good.

Why do we never hear anything concerning PC game sales? Surely the game industry is strong if you factor in MMO subscriptions.

Yet for some strange reason I couldn’t find a damn Wii anywhere around me during the holiday season. I’d like to get a Wii and buy some party games for well…parties.

Big shocker, vastly more hardware and software sold during the same month as christmas and in other news water was found to be wet.

One point about the accessory sales being up, that’ll be from all those christmas presents now having an extra controller etc.

Sales would be a lot better if the manufacturers would get the product to the stores. We got our first shipment of wii tonight in about 3 weeks. Ps3 onhands have been tough and go as well. When we have them they sell within hours. Last week one day we did a check and no walmart within 150 miles had either in stock and customers told us the same was true of our compedators.

Try costco for ps3, they always have them at mine. Games cost too much and nowadays are very short due to how much goes into the game, graphics, physics etc. We feel were are getting ripped off and I used to buy games once a month, now its at least half that. thats a 50% loss from me. Too many games are beaten within 6-8 hours nowadays.

games now days suck. everything is all graphics graphics graphics. i love how nintendo has stuck to its roots, and stayed headstrong in still being the leader in being the doorway to the gaming world. however, i feel that nintendo has let its older generation of gamers who grew up with the orginal NES dissipatefrom them. theo nly reason im buying a wii is for the big 3 taht never go wrong. mario, metroid and zelda. if nintendo will allow themsevles to up the graphics hardware, i feel the wiimote would be more then a gimmicky tool that most people think it is, there is so much you can do with a wii mote, and so much you can do with a wii (how about memorizing movments through the censors, that way i can load in a game, load it up, and fight myself considering that i train in martial arts). 360 has more games i want to play, but nintendo has my fun, and i like having fun. the ps3 si dead to me, with like what, 2 games i want for it, 300+ is not worth it for me. and with final fantasy 13 being on the 360, why both with a ps3 at all? i already have a computer, i get a gaming console to play games.
