The HTC Legend has made another pre-announcement appearance, this time appearing in full marketing regalia on a dutch website. According to Dutch wireless carrier KPN, the Legend is expected to debut in March with a list of specs that are relatively bland. Similar to previously leaked live shots, the Legend will sport a form factor that resembles the GSM Hero with an optical trackpad instead of a trackball, a slight chin, and a sleek looking unibody aluminum frame. The remaining specs include a 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive 320×480 touchscreen display, Qualcomm MSM7727 600MHz processor, 5.0 megapixel camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Android 2.1 with Sense UI. Look for the Legend to become official next week during MWC 2010.

Seriously, why do they keep releasing these phones? They are no different from their other models in features. Put. In. Decent. Hardware!

There are different market segments genius. Not every person in society is a geek like you. HTC has no shortage of market differentiation. They make high end Android like the Nexus one with larger screens, 1ghz Snapdragon processors and OLED screens. And they make high end WinMo devices like the HD2. They also make mid range Android like this one here.

    Does unibody mean removable battery?
I like my phones to feel solid.

Dang, Jason, I’m a geek just because I’m asking for semi-modern processors? I’m aware that they’ve made 1 high end Android device, but they continue to make multiple models of what is essentially the same phone w/ a bit different shape or size. Their WinMo offerings are off topic.

@ Jason Bonham You are totally correct. I love great hardware (and love reading about it) as much as the next person but at the same time, I’d probably never use it to its fullest capabilities — just happy to have a few simple apps, call, sync my calendar and contacts and do SMS/email. In addition, I could not afford it either so a mid-range is all that is required.

Nice mid level phone for the Android platform. I think readers of BGR and other tech websites are a little hard on mid level devices. These mobile phones are not made for people like us who want the greatest thing out. A Rolex wouldn’t be special if all watches were just as good and the same thing goes for phones. Besides, I don’t want everyone to have a phone as cool as mine.

FUGLY! Why can’t blogs stop touting company propagande/PR?

And typical HTC cr@p-phone with 2 year old hardware!

it’s like a prettier G1 with a trackpad type cursor controller instead of a trackball…

More pretty G1? This looks like a Hero. Straight down to the chin.

I am lovin’ the looks of it, but know it will never grace at&t so I will only get to admire from afar.
