iPhone OS 3.1.3

Grab your USB to 30-pin dock connector cable kids, Apple has released iPhone OS 3.1.3 to iTunes for your downloading pleasure. It doesn’t look like 3.1.3 is going to knock your socks off, but hey, an update is an update, right? Here is a list of what’s new according to Apple:

  • Improves accuracy of reported battery level on iPhone 3GS
  • Resolves issue where third-party apps would not launch in some instances
  • Fixes bug that may cause an app to crash when using the Japanese Kana keyboard

    @Don,

I would try to do a reset, just power down the phone and then power back up… hopefully that would fix any mms issue. Also sometimes if you send a mms to yourself, the network will reactivate your mms… I hope this helps :)

JB my 3.1.2 iphone or upgrade it to 3.1.3? JB is looking more and more like the better alternative.

I love this update (despite it lacking any new features). Battery power management seems to have been corrected. Much long battery life than I was getting before updating. Miracles do happen.

I upgraded my 3gs, which was operating fine, on wed. morning to 3.1.3. Since then I’ve had numerous annoying issues. Battery is depleting much more rapidly, I have gotten the “low battery 20%” message on my homescreen when the charge was at 85% on numerous occasions, and I am having problems with the signal ( reception) At work and home I’ve always had great 5 bar coverage, suddenly since update I’ve lost 2-3 bars, and the signal has been fluctuating from one moment to the next. Aaahhhh! Is anyone else experiencing these issues????
    Apple please fix!!!!!

This isn’t worth losing a jailbreak over. A very poor, disappointing update

I noticed that the auto brightness feature is performing much more noticeably! I was waiting for them to fix that!

Looks like the same old crap for the US users on the AT&T network. Hey apple how about cutting out all the fences on the iPhone for the us users! I see no change

iPhone Update 3.1.3 screwed up the interface to my car (Toyota 2010 Camry). The car audio system used to recognize the iPhone as a USB device and play podcasts and music located on the iPhone. Now after the update the car cannot recognize the iPhone and only gives an error message when you plug it in.

GPS stopped working after upgrade !!!

    • Blake

Mine stopped working once they came out with 3.0

why are people getting downrated because they say something bad about the update? if your GPS stops working after the update, then you should say something! and what do the apple fanboy trolls do? browse every comment that says anything remotely bad about apple and downrate the commenter. we have opinions and we have actual problems that can occur with our products. it is our job as consumers to be heard. don’t just go running around downrating people just because they didn’t kiss apple’s ass.

I’m not doing any upgrade at this time. I want meaningful to me upgrades. I gave up on Auto Brightness months ago and the only thing “3G” means where I live is Dan Savage’s definition of a good sex partner. I barely get regular reception, let alone 3G access. Apple? Some requests: “Contacts” app needs access to “Favorites”–not just the other way around. The “Calendar” needs more options in “Repeat Event”, like one day, two days, three days, etc., to complement weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and yearly (it’s hard to set a weekend, three-day weekend or five day event quickly). A “from date” and “to date” might be the answer there. Can the “Google” app rotate? The “Alarm” app could use a bit more refinement–adding more options to “Repeat” would be greatly appreciated–being able to choose “minutes” and “hours” would sure speed up scheduling (say for a med sched.)…or is there already an app for that?! I’ll go look now. Thanks.

Yah, with the new 3.1.3 update I get 5 bars and then none. The bars keep changing even though I am in the same spot. Ton of drop calls also . Man I have to run a business and this is costing me money. I guess I will have to switch to an Android or something.

The strange this is that the att support said I get good coverage when I am at and it is the Iphone. You what I replaced the and it has the same issues!

it is the update i believe that is the issue or maybe something wrong with the towers in my areas.
