Verizon Wireless lining up to offer prepaid BlackBerry plans

Rumor

vzw-bb-curve-8530

Verizon seems to be planning on expanding its prepaid line-up and options for current and would-be customers by throwing BlackBerry into the mix. Word is that within the next three months, prepaid BlackBerry plans will become available, though we’re not sure if all devices would be included. Rumor is that the plan adds $35 on top of the voice package, which isn’t so bad when compared to other carriers and most post-paid plans. We’ve also received word that the prepaid bundles would match Verizon’s older ones, and that phones would run somewhere between the subsidized price and full retail cost. We’ll be sure to keep you guys updated on this as news comes our way!

I spoke with a Verizon rep yesterday about possibly activating a Blackberry 8703e in a Prepaid plan with voice and data. I was told they are working on it and that it should be available by mid 2010.I was also told to hang on to my 8703e because there will be a prepaid plan for it.

You appear to be dumber than a bag of hammers. From the release 3 weeks ago:

IRVINE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Furthering its commitment to offer value and simplicity in no contract wireless services, today Boost Mobile®, part of the Sprint Prepaid Group, announced its popular $50 ‘Monthly Unlimited’ plan will be available on January 13, 2010 on the Nationwide Sprint CDMA Network reaching more than 274 million people.

Nimrod, you said, “Boost ($print-in-Drag) = iDen = Sucks Balls”

You were wrong. Kindly admit it, and move along.

    bill, ftw

  • bill

    your assertion that boost=iDEN.

Trust me friend, the difficulty understanding isn’t on my part.

  • bill

Wow…perhaps you should change your handle to ‘neutron star’ (figure it out). The prepaid blackberry is on CDMA, but offered by Boost. Not iDEN…CDMA. Not iDEN…CDMA. All together now…

    bill, ftw

  • blainer

You didn’t but you did infer that Boost only runs on iDEN and I quote:

    “Boost ($print-in-Drag) = iDen = Sucks Balls”

First statement isn’t totally true anymore except for the older devices that do still run on iDEN, but you made a gross generalization that all Boost devices including the 8330, were on the iDEN network. I don’t see you said it anywhere… And not really sure why you hate on Sprint so much. I’m in the SF Bay Area and their coverage is superior to just about everyone’s except for Verizon.

Ha ha ha ha!!!! Just pure entertainment!
