Nokia launches 16GB X6

News

A somewhat tame version of the X6 has been announced by Nokia today and will become available this quarter. The new 16GB X6 has half the memory capacity of the 32GB version, and it’s also missing the Comes With Music feature. If you think you can live with that, the 16GB X6 has an impressive battery life of 11.5 hours talk time and 18 days of standby, 4.5 hours of video playback and 35 hours of music playback. Of course, Nokia doesn’t cut any corners with cameras on its high-end devices, and this one features a 5 megapixel shooter with Carl Zeiss optics and a dual LED flash — pretty much par for the course on Nokia devices these days. The new X6 also has in-phone video editing capabilities and TV out support so you can watch your amateur cinematography on a big screen. No details on pricing, but we’d imagine it to be less than the full-fledged 32GB version.

Its the American arrogance, or should I call it ignorance… Nokia still commands over 50% of the global market… still going strong and continuing to churn out phones for all sections of the society.
But I don’t blame you, its the American media that has painted this image of Nokia. Perhaps because Nokia isn’t an American company.

This is such idiotic response or just another reason to bash the USA. The guy doesn’t like Nokia (period) so grow up.

Seriously? You know how much decline Nokia would have to be in for Apple to pass them up? Nokia sold like 450 million phones last year. Apple sold what 33.75 million in 3 years? Nokia isn’t dying yet. In the name of freedom I’ll never buy an Apple product.

wow, i cant believe it. BGR actually posted a Nokia story without bashing Nokia. To all the douche bag BGR readers who keep bashing Nokia….get a clue. Im sure the only Nokias that these guys have ever seen are the carrier branded ones and not the unlock Nokia phones. Oh yeah….and a big “F#ck You” to Wendy’s Burgers, you fat f*ck.

Although I’m not a Nokia basher, their touchscreen phones including this one, the N97, the N97 mini and the 5800 are garbage.

Their button controlled non-touch phones are better including the E-Series phones.

But, yeah, Symbian S60v5 is painful.

Okay we’re seeing the specs.. Where’s the GPS capability? Oh don’t tell me its the OVI again.. MM? — Actually, garmin had already conceptualize this on their GPS brand although the unveiling ot ‘it’ is not yet visible.

wow looks impressive and seems to have quite a reasonable battery life compared to some of the handsets around now.

You would think that the capacitive screen that Nokia is using in their latest music phone would draw the attention of all the “experts” here.

Or that maybe BGR would have noticed that Nokia has opened up Ovi Maps navigation, which blows away the much less mature and accurate Google offering, for FREE on most of its phones, including this one.

But the more I read, the more I realize that most people here know jack about phone technology that they didn’t get from a ‘fruity’ press release.

Good point! People in America are far from what Nokia and other brands offer in Europe like videocall, Skype without restrictions, Free music for a whole year and now Free GPS… wonder when Apple (as a compnay) or a Carrier like AT&T or Verizon will let people be free like this. 2010 and still an iPhone cant send pictures via Bluetooth…

  • Croif

What about the GPS capabilities and the FREE worldwide navigation that comes with this phone?
