BlackBerry Tour 9630 going out of stock at Best Buy?

One of our Best Buy connects just let us know that the BlackBerry Tour 9630 is on its way out.

According to one of our trusty sources, Best Buy locations that sell out of BlackBerry Tours will not have their stock refilled. Oh why, oh why, could this be?

    Everyone know the Tour failed hard. With serious hardware and manufacturing issues, it’s no surprise they are killing it. Shame on RIM for not recalling it. They have lost my business forever.

      Say whaa??? I’m not sure bout you merkins down south but my Canadian Tour is by far the best BB I have ever used. Say goodbye to battery pulls, say hello to great call quality!

      You fail for trying to act like your trackball NEVER EVER worked after all carriers replaced phones with a new ones where the trackballs worked fine.

      I understand you are mad because your phone will soon be the old version. I just don’t understand why people have no clue.

      Trust that I know when I get the Tour2 that eventually there will be a better phone out sometime thereafter. It’s not my concern when that will be, sooner or later. I want the Tour2 so I will buy it when it’s released…simple.

      Tour1 owners have a good phone. Maybe they should consider holding on to it until the Tour3 is out? Either that or STFU and buy the Tour2 and don’t say anything when the Tour3 comes out because you know it will. Or, buy another brand and that way when the same thing happens you can whine in their blogs instead of ours.

    I checked your link, although its not the 9630 model. The BB 9650 in fact does strike a resemblance.

    RIM, you will fall hard, and I mean hard this year! Ok, so the Tour is replaced by the Tour 2 with minor changes? That what u guys are bringing to the table for the first quarter? Seriously, the party I over! I think RIM delivers an awesome product in Blackberry. However, with the server going down so often, and then releasing the same phones over and over again with different names, and a slight new feature, there done! With what all these companies are coming out with, u can keep your Curve 2′s, Bold 2′s, and Tour 1 and a 1/2′s…. Yes I’m pissed, I like RIM, but they dropped the ball!

      I agree. When was there any significant hype around a blackberry since the bold 9000 and the storm?

      The 9700 isn’t revolutionary, its simply an aesthetics and minor hardware improvement to a device that was released about a year and a half ago.

      We need a device that will have storm hype but actually deliver. RIM has to realize that their marketshare is not as business oriented as it used to be.

      I think a lot of people here who give comments like these “thumbs down” are the ones who just got a BlackBerry not too long ago and are still in that infatuation stage. Having one for almost 3 years now, its frustrating to see some of the issues back then still not resolved.

    If it is so imminent, why is Verizon still denying that’s it’s coming. That’s what they told me…”there are no current plans to carry this phone on our network” just 4 days ago.

      Seriously, if RIM allowed the carriers to give the public notice about the release of a Tour2 months in advance, what would happen with all the waiting-to-be-sold Tour1s?

    I work for BBYM and I just checked the stock dates for 9630 and its discontinued as now with an out of stock date of ~end of March. The new Tour will probably be out in April.

    Just checked yesterday with Chattanooga TN Best Buy and they have stock and are having no problems getting more. The Tour 2 may be out the 15th of Feb, but this is just an educated guess on my part. Wish it would come soon so my wife can get her curve upgraded.

He meant performance-wise… You’re a dick. I don’t think your parents hugged you enough as a kid and now you’re a fat guy sitting in your basement in just your underwear eating cheetos… Congrats
