Pre-and-Pixi-Plus

Not much else to report other that what’s in the title. Verizon will be having a buy one get one free promotion on the Palm Pre Plus and the Palm Pixi Plus, a deal that will run from launch day through February 14th, Valentines Day. All you webOS fanatics grab a friend or four and get ready to head to your local Verizon Wireless store starting January 25th if you’re up for some Palm-style multitasking. Besides, the handsets ship with Touchstone-compatible back covers — you know we’re all about inductive charging.

Palm needs some new phones. They should make an all touchscreen device with webos,

I would bet Palm has a device like that they WANTED to show off at CES but it wasn’t ready yet. No proof of that, BTW, just a hunch.

OTOH, I think THAT device will be passed-by by the competition before released, too. But that’s just Palm.

Ya, because if the sales of this phone is the same as in Ireland, then…. well they wont sell anything… read about it: http://mobileosnews.com/?p=2098

What guy is going to buy a Pixi? Oh the douchebags from Jersey Shore! Fist Pump! WebOs is way too sick to be stuck on Palm and two devices! Verizon is doing this tango with Palm alil too late! Barely any Hype left!

OLD STUFF….JUST LIKE THIER NETWORK THAT NEVER GETS CHALLENGED!

  • sum1

This is actually a good thing i think. This will get more webos phones out into the wild which will mean more app downloads which is more money for developers….maybe more apps faster. At the very least it may be more popular

    wheres the tour 2 info?

    • Larry Love

I am actually surprised that people are still interested in the Tour 2. I have the Tour on Verizon right now and can say without a doubt unless Blackberry makes some drastic changes to the Tour 2 beyond what we have seen here on the BoyGenius Report I won’t be keeping one up. While it is true that Research in Motion has the largest market share here in the United States, I’m not seeing anything that will continue to draw in new customers.

The Pre Plus on the other hand looks like a great device that I am excited to try out. I purchased the original Pre on Sprint the day it launched but it fell short in too many areas. Although I would have preferred Palm release a new device, the Pre Plus still looks like a great device. I do agree with an earlier poster that Palm needs to release an all touch screen device. As much as I hate to say it, using the iPod touch makes me want a iPhone more and more, provided that it launches on Verizon in the near future. I look forward to the Palm doing well on Verizon but only time will tell.

Nothing like a cheapy phone on a painfully slooow network. I want one!

  • joe cool

so no tour 2 info today? i mean u did this w the eris. u have a unit and and say more to come. yet there is nothing more to come. try hiring some better ”ninjas”

  • Sean76

Tour 2? U guys are kidding right! The Tour 2 is 100% the phone u have with just a track pad instead off a track ball. And a slight tune up of wifi and maybe the same battery that the BOLD2 has. Very non interesting! Not worthy of being called a 2, maybe a 1/2…lol! Kudos to Palm, I want to see them get big again! Web OS is awesome, and I think with the newer HTC devices, iPhone 4, and some new stuff from motorola, this is going to be a good year for tech junkies. RIM u better wow ur loyal followers, because rebranding the same units is beginning to get old…Really OLD!

Bell Canada dropped the Pre price to free.

  • joe cool

  • victoria

The new features of Palm WebOS 1.4, which will be pushed out over the air some time in February. Some sweet flash 10.1 plug-in. They’ve also not revealed what extra fees there might be for tethering functionality. More of the specs and details: http://bit.ly/palm-pre-plus-pixi-plus-details

Miguel go get laid! Loser! Is this really the viewership tech regets look at? Dddddddaaaadouchebag!!!

  • Comedie

Will give it the once over. I need a new phone, my wife needs a new phone, and I’m overdue for my ‘new ever 2 years’. Sounds like 2 new phones for a relatively low outlay to me.

  • ~phel

bingo miguel! Hence the incrementalist way of updating things with their OS. Why put off very loyal users by radically changing the OS all at once? Small changes seem to be working well…

As anyone who follows the equity markets knows, past performance is never indicative of future results. In other words, those past quarterly results don’t mean anything with respect to RIM’s potential for future growth in the smartphone space.

In my view, RIM has gained traction with consumers based on the perception that people who use them are successful(i.e. business people who are perceived to be successful). Their product offerings lack differentiation and their bread-and-butter service, push email, is now available on multiple platforms and has been implemented very successfully. Frankly, their competitors have easily surpassed them in software and this will come back to haunt this company for a long time.
