Firefox 3.6 now available, sheds its beta label

You either love it or hate it, and ever since Chrome and Safari upped their games, we’ve been getting a little burned out by Firefox. Hopefully that will all change now with version 3.6 — new and improved (fingers crossed) and beta label gone. It’s now more customizable with additional add-ons and extensions, and it also features something new called “Personas,” which allows you to change the look at theme of your browser if you feel so inclined. Firefox 3.6 also has improved Javascript support as well as better support for HTML5 video, perfect for YouTube addicts excited about the recent introduction of HTML5 vids. If you haven’t abandoned Firefox for Safari, Chrome or IE8, you can download Firefox 3.6 starting today.

    @BGR: Who “hates” Firefox? Everyone HATES IE, but who ‘hates’ FireFox… or Chrome… or Safari? I think it’s preference between those 3, but not ‘hate’.

    2nd, who said MS was evil? I’m a MS fanboy but HATE Explorer. A friend or someone would use my PC, then the next thing I know I’ve got viruses and spyware DESPITE the fact that I have AVG + Spybot, etc. Fed up w/ the viruses, I switched to FireFox… and NEVER GOT ANOTHER VIRUS SINCE THEN (3+ years now over 2 PCs and 1 laptop). EVER. It’s at the point now where I delete all links to IE on any device I own to make sure no one ever uses it.
    And as far as getting ‘hacked’: That’s like saying you drive a car with no seatbelts, but that’s ok because lucky for you’ve never driven off a cliff. Not many people drive off cliffs and there are other concerns (whehter more important or trivial) that people are looking at.

    Your ‘comfort’ is simply because you’re used to it. Like the folks who think a TV with 240HZ refresh ‘looks funny’.

    I have been using Firefox for many years now and so
    i wanted to review on my favourite. It is the fastest
    browser and lots of tweaks are possible to add to it.
    Tweaks makes this browser more handy.
