I’m sure the ten people who own a Palm are partying like it was (1999) New Years right now…

Man, how long did you sit there thinking up that one!!!

  • fresh2death618

the app catalog is better and overal responsiveness is better.

  • StevenGlansburg

it would be a lot better if it just loaded Android on the Pre instead of WebOS

  • fresh2death618

stfu^ glansburg webos is the best os why in the world would I want lame ass android. Andriod does not do anything spectacular. It’s just a me to os created by google.

    • StevenGlansburg

Dude, I’m totally joking. I’m just poking fun at the influx of people wanting Android on everything despite how unpolished and flawed it is.

WebOS is actually my favorite OS that I have ever messed around with, but I can’t stand the hardware its on at this point. IMO, It’s the iphone OS on HGH and steroids, which is a very good thing..

    Android OS > WebOS

I’m downloading now… I like everything except for the fact that the new update makes landscape notifications possible. Still pretty good updates, it deserves 1.4 at least. I wonder now what 1.3 actually is.

    He said Palm… bwahahahaha

  • Jose

    No problem lol

  • Mrwirez

I hope Palm can hang in there, all competition is GOOD for all of us.

“It is not as neatly done as on the iPhone. Google has not been very good to entice customers to actually buy products. On Android nobody is making significant revenue,” Rochefort said.

Games for iPhone generated 13 percent of Gameloft’s revenue in the last quarter. “We are selling 400 times more games on iPhone than on Android,” Rochefort said. (Reporting by Tarmo Virki; Editing by Dan Lalor)

Who gives a crap, there is probably 25 million more iPhones. Android just went main stream a year ago on Sprint and I think public awareness is flying high right now. However, I fail to see your point on a post about a Palm OS update… Apple fan-boy’s never stop… Geeesh.

Sad part is even after update lacks video cam compass n 100% memory app n game allocation. No wonder prestore is being raped by apoplectic store. Desirability rate us so much lower. Mainly website editors tgt bought pre. It was jut another overhyped wannabee iphonekiller. Next. Line em up.

    • derek

what? why would it have a compass in the update? none of the hardware supports a compass? you can buy a shitty GPS based one if you want from the app catalog.

WebOS is a great platform, it just doesn’t have developers. I like sprint very much and my Pre, but it really needs to hop over to Verizon, or any other Provider. Before the iPhone does… if it wants to succeed, that is.

  • ricktheprick

Pre hardware is junk. WebOS on the Pre is like having a thousand-dollar audio system installed in a rusted-out Chrysler product.

  • Anthony

I would like to see WebOS on a serious phone like the moto droid and TP2. The Pre reminded me of a little kids plastic toy…oh, and on a better network.

much better so far. I wonder what Palm will announce at CES? WebOS Tablet? That would be awesome especially since Ruby used to work at Apple. Would be great if Palm beat them to it!

have plam since june of 09 on sprint and can tell u all one thing.
good service, fast network, good os. BUT……….. ABSOLUTELLY HORRENDOUS PHONE its self. just horrible. uncomfortable to do anything, especialll talk, dial, scroll with one hand., the slider design is bad. Yes it might rival apple but tha major difference about apple is they thought of functionality of the hardware, palm? , palm did NOT, just focused on the browser, palm feels incomplete. verdict: palm good for web surfing, emal, im, text, opening documents etc..but bad as phone, feels nasty in the hand and to the ear, battery couldnt be worse, design and functionality of the hardware is really really bad and uncomfortable, could have been the best of bot worlds like iphone+blackberry=palm? software permitted that but hardware never will.maybe they’ll change it in near future to be more ergonomic and comfortable in persons hands,bc some of us still like to use it as a phone.

Based on the comments here, you obviously never owned a Pre. The only thing you listed that was remotely true was the comment about the battery. Please troll somewhere else. The Pre has its problems but overall it is a great phone. It feels great in the hand. I would have loved to have a glass screen, but I have not had any issues with the plastic one. Especially since I had a screen protector installed (which I would have done with the glass screen anyway). The processor and GPU are the same on the Pre, iPhone, and Droid. The biggest differences are the OS (WebOS for the Pre, MacOS-X for the iPhone, and Android for the Droid) and the form factor (Portrait slide out keyboard for the Pre, no keyboard on iPhone, landscape slide out keyboard on the Droid). Each platform also has its own Apps store.

thats why i had got a pixi the pre hardware is junk. I had a pre hated the slider it kept turning off on me so i got a hero before the pixi came out hated its crappy battery life poor antanne and kept making me force quit. now with webos 1.3.5 the pixi isnt so slow as people use to say and i say. It use to be bad for internet because the screen would shut off and take like 5 seconds to turn back on maybe more because the page was to hard to render. if palm made a a personal pre with a large touch screen, pixi touch bar, and slide sliding keyboard i would buy it not on contract from ebay or from sprint directly or maybe complain about the pixi a little till one of my sources is able to get me one.(i know people in sprint repair!)

  • Fernando

I this a larger pixi with wifi, more memery, faster processor, and better camera would be the way to go, really enjoy playing around with my wife’s pixi, but it just too small.

  • SprintFan

Your still here with your idiotic comments? Is’nt your mommy calling you to the kitchen for cookies and milk?

  • Ricktheprick

Try looking at the Pre screen in sunlight while wearing polarized sunglasses. You will see a horribly distorted mess. It is unuseable in these conditions.

Try the above with an iPhone.

You tell me which phone is junk.

  • El Jefe

    disabled my preware!

  • matt

The update is fantastic. My pixi is running like a pre.

  • TheJediRevan

I def see an increase in speed and performance. My battery life has increased as well. I can’t tell if that’s because of the update or the lack of homebrew because of the update. We shall see when I reinstall homebrew once they get the adapt to 1.3.5
