From Russia with love: additional images of the Motorola Sholes Tablet XT701 emerge

Straight out of Russia are some new images of the Motorola XT701. These renderings are reportedly from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC, China’s version of the FCC. Also, the device has reportedly received certification and is expected to arrive in China and possibly Russia in early 2010. The handset will reportedly ship with Android 2.1 and will include an HDMI port, 720P video recording/playback and an FM radio. Once again we see the curious bump on the side of the handset and and a prominent camera with Xenon flash. Although the back of the phone in these renderings clearly states 8MP, previous spy shots have indicated that the camera is 5MP, which leaves us wondering which information is correct, or if there’s just two variants. Will the real Motorola XT701 please stand up? Hit the jump for one additional image.

    Probably China/Russia, only. Can’t imagine this would be the US version. (that should essentially be a Droid without a keyboard)

    The hump does serve a purpose though; there are three touch buttons, and it also serves as a dedicated ‘hump’ for the camera shutter button.

    I don’t think all phones should look like the iPhone. I wish more phone didn’t look like the iPhone. That said, for the masses your design is what gets people looking at your device. Sure your phone should make toast and everything else but it has to have a good design to sell 10 million plus a quarter. For all geeks/nerds let me explain that EVERY SINGLE COMPANY BELIEVES THIS! If they have all the features and a poor design it limits the amount of devices they will sell. There are only son many people that want to watch 1080p on their phone. The rest of us watch 1080p on our TV. That said, once Apple has an API that takes my video from my iPhone/touch/tablet via WiFi to that big screen, the I will consider it a feature needed. Geeks should always remember, there are few of you you a reason “the rest of us are busing fucking, working and fucking while working. If that seems a little strong for some of you I apologize. Good thing I didn’t mention fucking at work while filming it on the 3Gs.

    Let the dominaion continue, in 18 days Apple has already secured 35% of the new quarters smartphone sales in South Korea. Using last quarter 400,000 as a guide anyhow. So I am sure it’s plus or minus 5%.
    To all other manufacturers, good luck. The US market will also be muti-carrier this year. Apple will sell around 50 million iPhones and another 50 iPod Touches this next year. Amazing.

    motorola xt701 is not motorola sholes tablet but motorola ophone. if you can see in letter “8.0″ is photoshopped by someone. motorola xt 701 only have 5 mega pixel camera (read from your own website bgr => http://www.bgr.com/2009/12/19/full-specs-of-the-china-bound-android-powered-motorola-xt701-and-the-xt800). haha… why bgr believe wrong information mobiset,ru.
