If you happen to live in Canada, have $199.95 burning a hole in your pocket, are more than happy to sign away three years worth of discretionary income to keep it running and don’t mind rolling with something that feels like it’s straight out of 2007, you might want to stop by a Bell dealership and check out the newly-launched Nokia N97. If you happen to become smitten with it and walk out of the shop with it, stand proud, for as Bell said, if you rock the N97, “you’ll be one of a kind”. Literally.

Variety is good. I hate Rogers (once the only GSM/UMTS carrier), who used to boss use around and dictate what phone we SHOULD buy.

Nokia makes good phone, yet the only N series phone we ever had was N95 (without resolving from grey market)

600 to buyout looks steep however.

So, what exactly does one do with an FM Transmitter on their phone? Can the FBI surreptitiously turn it on (ala OnStar) to listen in to my phone calls on their car radio. Or is it just for playing MP3′s over the radios of my friends cars at the pre-game tailgate party?

Why does BGR have such a hate on for all things Nokia? Are they major share holders in a company named after a fruit? I just don’t get it. I am happy to see this finally arrive in Canada, and I hope that Wind will carry the N900, to add to the carrier and hardware options. But seriously BGR, why the hate?

Too Late. The phone is in the market for 6 months already.

when i first saw the n97 in person, i could only marvel at the tiny screen and terrible keyboard. I wanted it to be so much better, then I had to admit to myself that it was a great feature list just poorly implimented. way to go canada by the way, LMK when you get the next somewhat big thing 6mos+ late.
