BlackBerry Curve 8520 reportedly making its way into AT&T retail stores

Retail

AT&T sure doesn’t miss out on too many BlackBerry offerings, does it? In addition to the original Bold, 9700, and 8900, the Curve 8520 is going to start sharing some of that shelf space pretty soon. It doesn’t have an official release date just yet, only an announcement, but we can only imagine that it’s going to be up for retail pretty soon. After all, the 8520 is already appearing in full AT&T regalia and posing for pictures. If you’ve been wanting a trackpad-equipped BlackBerry for AT&T but the 9700 is on the pricey side, all you need now is a little patience.

Hey, what happened to the results of the BB 8900 competition? Still waiting !!!

    • 1jaxstate1

LOL, that’s what I’m waiting for, because as soon as I purchase a new Curve 8900…BAM! I’ll win. #wishfulthinking

MORE JUNK BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE WORST 3G NETWORK IN THE COUNTRY.

  • amanda

best buy has already released the phone in the atlanta market!!!!

  • kirbo20

We just got 20 of these in today. Just in time for the 50% off sale that starts tomorrow.

This blackberry sucks, it isnt even an uprgrade from the 8900 because it still has edge, it also has a lesser camera than the 8900. The CDMA version at least has 3G, but it isnt REV A so its crap. this curve is completely useless

    • StevenGlansburg

EVDO Rev 0 is not 3g by world standards. It’s EDGE speed, I now know from experience. Verizon’s map is no different than At&t’s maps. If you look at their map and click on the option to view where you can get Vcast Mobile TV, that is where you will find the Rev A, which is up to par with GSM 3G. It’s laughable. I don’t work in a field that is remotely connected with the phone industry and I could figure this out. Why can’t At&t’s dumbass marketing department?

      • JoeTour

this debate has sailed already. LTE is the new boxing matchup. LTE versus Wimax versus EDGE 3G

      • VZW

VCast Mobile TV does not run off Verizon network dumbass. This just shows how dumb you really are. If you look at AT&Ts Mobile TV coverage, its the same as Verizons because its off MediaFLOs TV network by Qualcomm. It has nothing to do with EVDO Rev A. EVDO Rev A is on every 3G cell tower.

Uh, EVDO rev 0 is much faster than the 80kbps typical EDGE speeds. Get a clue.

  • Louis

I was in one of the local AT&T stores and the phone was on display and said “coming soon.” However, next to the lovely Bold it doesn’t even compare! Still hoping I’m a winner BGR!

    • vader

yea i saw one at my att when i bought my 9700 about a week ago

  • D

The phone is now for sale in retail stores at a price point of free after 100.00 MIR with new 2 year…

  • Jarred

I just got mine in at my store.

  • JoeTour

did we see a ‘curve 8530 REPORTEDLY making its way into stores of verizon’ back in November?
    i dont think so.

its not ‘long awaited’ as the Bold or the Tour to exactly fit the bill for a headliner, but then again, anything is news these days…………….

  • jjfox

Hey wendy. Suck your own dick. Hahaha

    • Jerry Marcus

you sound like and enraged homo.

      • Cpete

      • Jerry Marcus

I should know. I’m an enraged homo. I’m stroking it right now thinking about you.

  • jjfox

Wendys spice chicken loves to suck dick.

  • 1jaxstate1

I may have to save up for this if I don’t win the giveaway of the 9700 from BGR. Please Boy Genius, I am in desperate need of a phone.

  • Stringer Bell

Showing up on Premier at on my work site now.

  • jayweezy

this is kind old it’s been in AT

  • Get it straight

    Mr Glandsberg,
VCAST TV uses media flo signal not rev A. You didn’t complete your home work. Like the blue map you too fail.

  • Adam

    wait until friday….price drops :)

    • VZW

By 50%… Damn, Verizon is giving them away for free when you buy one. Plus, they are already 50.00 to 100.00 less then AT&T.

This shows you AT&T deosn’t have the money to do big sales like Verizon does.

  • kirbo20

    I’m going to Wendy’s

  • Biggle

Welcome to troll central. This site is in desparate need of moderation.

  • Blackberry Bold

    Lack of 3G = check
Lack of Fast processor like Bold = Check
Lack of awesome design like Bold = Check
Lack of good carrier signal =Check

    Get out!

    • kirbo20

This device isn’t intended to replace the Bold it is replacing the 8310. So it does no good to compare it to a Bold.

  • Carl

My Premier account is showing it for free. But even for free I can’t bring myself to get it. EDGE is just too slow although WiFi helps… no, I still can’t do it. I’d rather wait for a free offer on refurbished Bold’s that come up from time to time.

  • Oxyrt

This phone was up for sale at my local AT&T store today. It caught me by surprise. lol

  • Maulik

8520 is available here but no 9700 till now :(

  • ron

    8520 available on premier site

  • jdoe

Why compare the 8520 to the 9700 or 8900? It’s like comparing a family sedan to a sports car. Its a moot point as it is a different price point aimed at different customers!

I ordered my 8520 and should have it shipped to the house next week. Looking forward to it! CNet.com really liked it. Plenty of other folks liked it too. Looks and sounds like a great phone.

  • Jamal Zayyad

DO NOT GET THIS PHONE! BELIEVE ME, I JUST CANT WAIT TO GET A NEW PHONE THEN THIS PHONE IS GOIN BYE BYE… HOPEFULLY I CAN GET ANYTHING FOR IT SO I CAN DONATE THE MONEY =P

  • VZW

You rather have this because it lacks GPS and 3G.unlike the Verizon verison.

  • David Adler

Plus it isnt even EVDO Rev. A so it is even more doggy than the current CDMA standard of 3G LOL

  • Jerry Marcus

    VZW works for Verizon.

  • JoeTour

can anyone count howmuch times this …..head used the word ..ick? —— pretty sick!

  • Concerned

What kind of lame site allows this kind of vulgarity to stay posted all afternoon? BGR, you should be ashamed.

  • Jerry Marcus

AT&T’s 3G is far better than Verizon’s if you happen to be in range of the 6 towers that support it – LMAO.

  • Jerry Marcus

    I grab ankles for AT&T.
