Nokia N87 12MP document leaked?

A random video on YouTube shows what looks something like an official Nokia document outlining some initial features of the Nokia N87 12MP. According to the document, the N87 will feature a 12 megapixel Carl Zeiss lens with a dual-LED Xenon flash, a 3.2 inch capacitive WVGA display, 600 MHz processor and 16GB internal storage. It is nice to see Nokia getting up to speed and finally introducing an N-series phone with some desirable specs. If this pans out, let’s hope this is the one that “Comes With Maemo”.

    I doubt it’ll be Maemo. It’s an N-series. It’s gonna be that lame Symbian S60 – 5th V all the way.

    But the capacitive screen still does have me interested. Put in a QWERTY keyboard and this one’s a winner.

    I doubt it. Nokia decided a long time ago that the only Xenon that would be on an N-Series phone is the n82. Plus, it looks like an n96 with a touch screen and a big camera. You can put a pile of poo in a shiny box, but it will still look and smell like poo (regarding a 12.1 MP camera that wont look as good as my panasonic lumix camera with 9.1 MP).

    Didn’t Nokia state that the Maemo would be solely for N-series devices, that S60 would live on in thier lower product lines. Seems that has a fighting chance of have Maemo.

    Nokia also said they’d stop making CDMA phones, yet they’re still being released on Verizon.

    Why why why would they put 12MP on a sensor that small. Please stop it! I don’t need to make poster-sized prints of random sensor noise!

      As iritating it is that what sells it to consumers. Thought at least it has slowed down a bit with Nokia, Samsung and SE. I HOPE we will be staying in 12mpx for long time.

      And about this pheon. Just not true. 3.2inch on Maemo phone just dosen’t fly. It might be Symbian^2 phone, but i doubt. Remember that we are not yet going to see too many Maemo phones before Maemo 6 second half next year so they will surely be announcing some higher end Symbian^2 phones.

    Seeing that “upto 16gb of storage” does give a hint that it may come in different variations like an 8gb version and a 16gb version…

    Hopefully some of the touch screen stuff that was broken in the X6 will be fixed on this device. Better integration of the virtual keyboard would go a long way, as would better memory management. Having little open other than email and a browser and still getting the infamous symbian out of memory error goes a long way toward killing one’s joy with a new toy.

    Also I can guaranty you guys that this phone won’t come with maemo because as Nokia said, they will be releasing only 1 maemo device next year and that device is the Nokia N920, a slightly downsized version of the N900 + it lacks the slide out keyboard so this “N87″ will sadly be sporting Symbian v5 :(

    There is just one tiny problem: Symbian^2 only supports 360×640 resolution. And since I seriously doubt Nokia would use Maemo on this thing, I say fake.

    Definitely fake – and typical BGR to be ignorant enough about anything outside iPhone and VZW to bite.

    First the obvious:
    - The tilted Nokia logo in the corner
    - Nokia highlighting the CPU specs, let alone MHz rating w/o architecture – especially in such basic introductory piece
    - The resolution indicates Maemo, not Symbian; however the Maemo devices are likely to stay with the NXXX and not NXX convention
    - The sliding direction is wrong for a Maemo device; also a fully QWERTY would make a lot more sense than multimedia keys
    - I have seen a presentation of some of Nokia’s plans for the future — this simply does not match.
