Google Phone a certainty?

Hardware

Android Speaks

While others are filing this under “certainty” we are still going to have to classify this one as a “class 1 rumor.” Gizmodo is reporting that it has a trusted source, of sound mind and body, proclaiming that Google’s Android operating system will be running on Google developed/branded hardware in the imminent future. The article goes on to say, not only will Google be making its own hardware but it will also be running a version of Android that the world has yet to see. Gasp. The article is pretty light on facts and fairly high on speculation so we’ll let you guys decide how high this one ranks on the certainty meter. While we don’t see a reason that Google would want to royally piss off their hardware partners, we also don’t see them letting much get in their way of world domination.

I think Google is smart enough to stay out of the hardware business. They’ve already let the cat out of the bag so to speak with android so it’s not like they can be the exclusive seller like Apple.

I think google is smart enough to stay out of the hardware business. I think it is much more likely that google will change the way we use our existing android phones via the full integration of google voice.

They make a killing. Every time you use your Google browser on your Android phone. All of your surfing habits are discretely sent to Google. Who in return sell that information to the highest bidder. Thanks

If Google made their own phone, it would really alienate the carriers and manufacturers who make other Android phones.

I find it hard to believe that Google would be stupid enough to put out a product like this and without making no money.

I work in a solid steel building, and data signals from Sprint’s network can barely penetrate. So it’s great having my phone set up to use the building’s wireless, letting me make calls from areas that are complete dead zones for everyone else.
