BlackBerry Internet Service hit with data outages worldwide

We’ve been receiving multiple reports that BlackBerry Internet Service, or BIS, is down for many people — possibly worldwide. Initially, we thought the outages were only affecting certain carriers, but users from multiple carriers have reported a service interruption for what seems to be a few hours now. Naturally, we’ll keep you updated as we receive more news, but for now we’re not quite sure what’s causing this outage as it seems to be possibly affecting BlackBerry users on a global scale and we have numbers of around 75-80% in terms of users affected.     Same problem as Deb. I’m in upstate NY w/T-Mobile as my carrier. Txt, BB instant msg and BIS working fine… just no e-mail service. Haven’t seen any info online re today’s outage.

    I’m in London UK and both my o2 BB and Vodafone BB are working fine, delivering email, SMS, BBM, browser, etc all work.

    I am in charlotte,nc and I have verizon. My internet on my blackberry stopped working yesterday on the 22.

    im on orange pay monthly blackberry.. had it since April 2010 and its now Septemebr 2010, it has worked fine up until now. when i try to get on any website it comes up as ‘a communitcation failur has occured. the server may be busy, please try again later. if the problem persists contact your service provider.’ It has been 2 days of this now. HELP
