Fear not, Motorola still makes lame handsets, MOTO Klassic

I don’t know what’s wrong with you BGR, but not everyone can afford a $200 – $570 phone with a $30/month mandatory data charge. Some people just want a phone for voice calls only, and as far as flip phones go, this one is really nice. The metal look is slick, nice camera specs and a huge external touchscreen for a flip phone. Not to mention a lot of people in Korea are on a rice farmer’s salary, so this may suit them very well.

This phone really looks like the cancelled razr3 that has been canceled last year and was to be running UIQ.

I think while this phone isn’t too revolutionary in design ( a cross between a V9m and a V3maxx, in the camera/flash look), it’s pretty sexy. Best phone I ever owned was the Motorola v60i. I love Moto. Rocking the Droid now. First endeavour into Android world and I’m not going back. This is coming from a Apple guy. He’ll, I’m in the tub typing this on my iPhone. I would rather drop this in the tub or get moisture damage, than my Droid, even though the Droid is covered under phone insurance. Don’t hate.

Why would you call this phone lame? Moto has won millions of $ for their clamshell handsets. Specially V3,V8. So this phone would be a real hit in the market if it is releashed out of Korea. It certainly is better than Samsung G400!!! I can’t understand this war against Moto. I love BGR but you are continiously writing negative comments about Motorola. Please, end this critisism. Write a review and let people decide. I am ready to create my own site with some friends and it will probably have a “mobile” section. Thank you for your reviews BGR. The design is a matter of taste, but seriously, 2G? 3G connectivity is practically the bare minimum even for dumbphones. It’s 2009 you know…

Hey I think this is a very sexy looking phone for the people that still use dumb phones and flip phones. I would get it if I had to pick a old school clam shell phone. The screen also looks big on the outside. I wish this was out back when we all had razrs! I guess it is a little out of date though.

Boygenuis is an idiot. This a nice very looking device. There is still a market for flip phones. Not everyone wants a to carry a portable computer that happens to make phone calls. Some people want a phone that is a phone and that’s it….. Not a light saber and not a farting piano. If boygenuis could get a girlfriend, this might be the kind of phone she would like.

they might sell more of these in China than the Droid. in America. Droid is to heavy and they keyboard is difficult at best.

This is called a “Momma Phone”. My mother would love this. Old outside and young and youthful inside. Maybe it’s an oxymoron phone…lol.

I think the phone is fine. It looks like a phone for the older set who wants something somewhat “cool” but simple. Not only that, this is for Korean markets right now, what would BGR know about that?

I work for a telco and people to this day ask if the razor is still available. I’m surprised it’s taking Moto so long to release a basic clam shell in the states. BTW whats up with bashing basic phones?

“Blazing 2G connectivity”? Yea, we get the sarcasm, but the sarcasm is lost on the rest of your feature slams which actually are pretty nice selling points for a phone such as this one. Tech geeks can be so bitchy.

omg. I’m so tired of hearing “some people just want a simple phone.” if all you want is a simple phone then go to target and buy one. The ‘simple phones’ are the ones with a cord and phone jack. Why would moto bother making a phone that doesnt give people any reason to upgrade. Why pay money for a handset that doesnt do anything that your current handset doesn’t do. Even if I could go back to B.I. (before iPhone) and live with out everything it has. There is no way I would pay a dime for a device that I have 3 of from middle school collecting dust in a drawer some where. What are you thinking moto?

Some people want just voice, maybe basic texting in a phone. You baby geniuses are making the category mistake that everything needs to be a smart phone with a bunch of shit that most people never even use.

What is still great about a clam for many people is it actually fits the freaking head (ear-to-mouth) unlike some of these boring slabs.

Write-ups like this are just high-school spew, meaningless small-minded opinions by kids who really don’t know much about the industry. Good god, so if it’s not a slab phone its useless!

I prefer to have both a slab (NOTE: fanboys No names No pack drill) for work and a flip for personal, flip is way easier to carry in a pocket and the battery lasts MUCH longer.

I like it and I’m sure many others will too, you stick to your fanboy dreams, and joe public will keep buying the more basic handsets.

Before you ramble off on so many million sold this phone and that phone, Nokia (not ones I own) make and sell almost a million units a day.

Se get a grip fanboys, on reality no matter how many ‘smart’ slabs are sold they are miniscule compared to this market.

I don’t get it, what’s so lame about this Moto? I think it looks nice. Why even mention the iPhone and Droid in response to this BGR post? Not everyone wants, much less needs a smartphone.

Motorola may lack in coming out new phones… But whenever they come out a new phone, it will always surprise Consumer….
