We’ve been told that in conjunction with the DROID launch, Verizon is going to be creating a “first-of-its-kind” interactive experience in New York City. What’s the name of it? “DROID Does Times Square.” Our connect says that this experience will let people control two of Times Square’s largest digital billboards — the NASDAQ and Reuters signs — using only voice commands. What you see above is a “sneak peak” of what it’s going to look like.

I don’t consider myself a fanboy of anything since I simply get the one that I believe suits me, but since the Droid is being touted as the Iphone killer, I thought I would post this link from the Chicago Suntimes for comparisons. The columnist is primarily an Apple person but he does have extensive hands-on with the Droid for a week and has some interesting point of views for both devices.http://www.suntimes.com/technology/ihnatko/1867831,ihnatko-verizon-droid-iphone-110509.article

All I know is, I tried the search game in TS yesterday and ended up buying a Droid. They got me. Love it so far but wish it had a phone button to make it a little easier to make calls. (BTW I’ve already loaned the Droid to an iPhone user cause she couldn’t get a signal).

Yeah, the Droid is certainly a competitor to the Iphone. If I did not have the Iphone right now and was looking for a smartphone, I would consider the Droid. Its nice to see Motorola get back on their feet again. Like a lot of users the big beef is on AT&T. Thats were Verizon has the big edge, as far as the phone, I have my doubts it will surpass the Iphone. Competition is great though. I’m curious to see what Apple has in store for next year. Multi-tasking, camera flash and flash on the browser are what I’m hoping for.
