T-Mobile sending out BlackBerry 9700 event invites

Exclusive

tmo-9700-invite

It seems as if those lovely now almost yearly launch parties are going to start happening pretty soon. T-Mobile has started sending out various invites to corporate customers (we’ve been sent two completely different-looking invites from two different connects) all describing a mythical new BlackBerry with Wi-Fi-enabled calling. Whatever could it be? The events we’re hearing about are on November 5th in NYC and we’ve been told that people attending will be taking home brand new BlackBerry 9700s. And they get breakfast, but no one cares about that.

UPDATE: We’ve been told the Los Angeles market launch event is on November 3rd.

Thanks FrankenBerry!

    To ADAM.
I think this Blackberry Bold 9700 will run on T-Mobiles AWS 3G bands one of them being 2100 mHz.
Rumor also has it that the bands will match those of Europe’s 3G and that will allow you to travel abroad and use it in T-Mobile Europe’s network like T-Mobile Germany, T-Mobile U.K., etc.
I think the bigget selling point is the WiFi UMA, because at&t will carry the same phone, and VZW as well as Sprint might get different WiFi capable Blackberries, but no carrier owns Spectrums that allow you to make VOiP calls over WiFi liike T-Mobile USA and Rogers Canada.
Through different circumstances that VOiP calling can be very helpful.

Is there any possibility that we’ll be able to attend this event once the details are given to whomever gave you this information?

BG: Give me a date for AT&T please??????

how i sign up to go to this event… anyone

  • FrankenBerry

I am actually excited about the Breakfast. Do you know how much fresh squeezed OJ costs in the city? That alone will be worth the price of admission. You can’t sign up unless you speak to your corporate sales rep. at T-Mobile.

  • Fran

Haha it’s neat that they are doing this, kind of ironic.

    Oh vawncast ..

  • FrankenBerry

    @vollrathian
This not for T-mobile employees this for corporate customers. I have been to a few of these events and will be going to this one as well. (That’s my pic BG is using) There are sales reps there as well but just to meet with the clients.

I have got to get me an invite sent to me. I would be more than ecstatic to attend! I’m in Alabama so the closest place to here would be great.

This event is being held by the company called http://www.theelevenagency.com

T-Mobile is one of their clients

  • Bolder

Any updates if they will be giving out phones at these events?

  • FrankenBerry

I was told to expect a free device if you go to the event.

At previous events they have given free devices. I got a free curve at the curve launch. I got a free Dash 3G at that launch.

So I think its a safe bet they will give away free devices.
