iPhone OS 3.1.2 hits the scene

Software

iphone-os-312

iPhone users should boot up their desktops / notebooks and fish out their USB cables because iPhone OS 3.1.2 has just gone live in iTunes. Other than restricting fixing random issues, Apple highlights the following as the three major changes:

• Resolves sporadic issue that may cause iPhone to not wake from sleep
• Resolves intermittent issue that may interrupt cellular network services until restart
• Fixes bug that could cause occasional crash during video streaming

We’re installing the new software on our entire iPhone armada and will report back if we find anything huge, but in the meantime, how about you guys let us know how the upgrade works out for you. Sound good?

UPDATE: Looks like there’s a carrier update as well which brings AT&T to 5.6.

The carrier update hides all refference to tethering in the ui.

Wrong. Internet Tethering still shows up as a choice with the new software upgrade(s).

Regarding slow synching try using a hard wire connection rather than wifi and temporarily disconnect any virus protection you may have this helped me

LMAO! You would think that Verizon could spell “coming” correctly. Could it possibly be a BS poster?! On the internet? No way….

i have this problem too… the network name disappears after jailbreak to 3.1.2… left only the signal strength of the network.. anybody knows how to solve this??

Did this update hide where it showed tethering usage in 3.1 for those on AT&T?

Wow. It isn’t even April 1st or anything! Not only does it not have the verizon branding on the back that would no doubt be required by Verizon, it looks identical to the 3G and 3Gs which of course would not be a huge selling point, and the picture is a fairly horrible photoshop. Probably saddest though, is that “comming” isn’t a real word.

    Thanks for playing though.
