    Yet we cant get it here in the U.S till later… we are always the last ones to get anything from Android…yay

    The keyboard is pretty bad and it’s a thick device, but it’s not too bad for a mid-range device.

      you are on my point. it is really bad

    Got it – I think it’s pretty neat. I love a QWERTY keyboard, and the Twitter and Facebook Happenings bit is pretty nice.

    Is a bit wobbly though – used to better build quality from Moto. Not sure it’s going to be the one to save the company over here, but it’s at least a step in the right direction.

    How well is Android faring against WinMo? Are there that many apps for it?

  • jnl813

    @palfrei

    Dude theres thousands of apps, and Sprint is coming on board on the 11th, today they just announced Verizon… that just means more apps, more developers, more Power towards Android. I use to be an iPhone user until the whole Google Voice thing, then i just got tired of playing the whole ” Apple waiting list” thing. took them 3 years to allow MMS- and now they wont let Adobe flash..let me guess that’ll come with the next iphone…im sure.. for now i have everything i want in my Android phone (MyTouch) buti am considering going to Sprint for the Hero, cheaper plans and cheaper phone yet more powerful in both areas. T mobile needs to wake up, and quit selling these phones so high.

    As far as WinMo, sorry but it does not look good for you guys. Not after Android and Apple, even Blackberry is worried.

    @GBeav,

    When you say “Got it”, does that mean you bought one today from the only place selling them in the UK, the Milton Keynes shop ????

    Can you tell us about the web browser. How easy is it to use? How about zooming? and clicking on links, especially where they are near each other?

  • Gbeav

    @Crypto

    The browser is tip top – as good as any other on Android, and thanks to the screen being slick it feels good.

    It renders as fast as anything too – perhaps not as fast as the iPhone every time, but only less than a second less each load.

    I’m impressed – but I can see why some people wouldn’t like the keyboard.

    @Gbeav,

    Thanks for the wonderful feedback!

    Wow, your comment about the rendering speed is great. I think that Motorola has squeezed the performance of this phone to get the very best they could.

    One thing about the keyboard is that when you have it open it does not reduce the area of the screen you can see! So in comparison to any onscreen keyboard, a physical one always wins…. and if you insist you could still use the onscreen one.

    Since you are the only real user with a production DEXT/CLIQ can you please try out the camera. Some reports say that it is better than the iPhone camera even in low light!

    I understand that the focus button has two positions, like a real camera, so you can wait to get a focus lock before taking the shot.

    Thanks again!

    Can someone out there please update us on the battery life…???

  • Dan

    can someone confirm that on the black version, pressing alt does not light up the alt symbols?

    i’d like to get the black one but not if the white one has this feature.

    excerpt- “no, the alt key itself isn’t anything special, but when the backlight on the keyboard is active and you press the alt key, the alternate numbers and symbols on the keyboard independently light up. very cool. (this doesn’t seem to be the case on the titanium version of the cliq).”
