While heralding the launch of the HTC Imagio, Big Red snuck in a few extra goodies and made the rugged, PTT-capable Motorola Barrage, the entry level Nokia 2705 Shade, the QWERTY-packing Verizon Wireless Razzle and a 3G-enabled Gateway netbook official. All rumors and innuendos about these myriad of devices have been confirmed with launch dates and pricing as follows:

  • Motorola Barrage: Available on October 1st for $129.99 after a 2-year contract and a $50 mail-in rebate. Non-camera version available October 21st
  • Nokia 2705 Shade: Available on October 6th for $29.99 with a 2-year contract
  • Verizon Wireless Razzle: Available on October 6th for $69.99 with a 2-year contract
  • Gateway LT2016u: Available on October 4th for $149.99 after a 2-year contract and a $100 mail-in rebate

With a feature phone for every family member, a smartphone and a netbook to boot, there is a proverbial cornucopia of new wireless devices on the way for Verizon Wireless customers. Now if Big Red could just take the wraps off that Motorola Tao so we can stop squinting at those blurrycam photos. Hit the jump for a few more press shots.

Fully loaded with an ugly VZW BREW interface!

I wouldn’t mind the software they put on their dumbphones and most of their enhanced multimedia phones if it wasn’t so butt ugly.

  • chuck

@watbetch, you mean you don’t find the puke green wallpaper attractive?!

  • JT

Looks like they took all their ugly devices and bundled them into one PR. Oh, and 129 for the clamshell Moto on a 2 year contract? What year is this?

  • zach

wow .. fugly devices. thats all

  • Joseph

From Verizons website and the reason the Moto Barrage is so “expensive” for a clamshell

Meets or exceeds Military Specifications 810F standards for blowing rain, humidity, solar radiation, high and low temperature, blowing dust, salt fog, altitude, shock, vibration, and transit drop. Waterproof when submerged in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes

Perfect for my brother-in-law who has broken every phone he’s had.

This is great PR! Verizon released all of their ugly devices in one swoop…that’s awesome.

A gateway netbook! that is exciting, Does it run on DOS and have number munchers? Verizon inability to make an attractive or relevant device other than a blackberry hurts them.

This lineup looks more like a listing of models that have been discontinued…in 2004. I’m sure we’ll see these items posted again in a few weeks for that very reason. I’m especially surprised it took the HUB (not listed) this long for them to cancel its existence.

    That stuff is all trash.

It sounds to me like you are all semi-retarded in here. You all do realize that for all the high end phones there are just as many low end, light user friendly phones such as the razzle. Additionally, the Barrage is not just a simple flip, it’s a ruggedized push to talk phone than can withstand all of your slobber gnawing you will provide it with. Oh and yes, it’s a netbook with the Gateway logo on it but the point is it’s another netbook to add to the portfolio of mobile computing and will sell really well.

Why don’t you go and tell the multi-billion dollar making company that they suck. I am sure your no degree having ass knows waaaaay more than the educated market researchers they have hired.

You all fail to realize that not everyone is in the market for high end devices.

I think it’s time to view the big picture that is the rest of the world rather than your closed off life in your mother’s basement.

Put down the cheetos and welcome yourself to the real world you whiny ass, washed out, translucent little geeks.

Heheheh… I totally read that headline as “barge”…. Looks like i wasnt that far off…
