Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 to launch in January?

Not interested in Windows Mobile-powered XPERIA X2 that should lift off in January? How does the simultaneous January launch of the Android-powered XPERIA X3 sound? Don’t bet on it actually happening, but rumor has it the X3 may launch in January, side-by-side with its Microsoft-powered cousin. Odd that Sony would announce the X2, keep quiet on the X3, and then launch them both at the same time. Appropriately, we’re extremely skeptical at best. Of course we would love nothing more than to see the X3 hit the streets as soon as possible though, so we’ll go ahead and cross out fingers just in case. Two high-profile Sony Ericsson smartphone releases in the same month would be a hell of a way to kick off 2010, that’s for sure.

    This thing was announced way back then, and it’s not coming out until January, why does SE keep making the same mistake, this is the same thing that happened with the first xperia phone, by the time it comes out, most people won’t care, because there will be better phones out, or better phones that have been announced.

    online retailer expansys listed the X2 as launching Jan 10th, 2010. fwiw, vodafone UK’s website now says the X2 is “arriving in November”.

    Man, I’d LOVE to own this phone… but if they’re not gonna bring it to US carriers or make it affordable, SE is shooting themselves in the foot with a friggin’ RPG. SERIOUSLY.

    This is the sexiest phone in a long time, and I’ll get it as long as it works in the US, inspite of the OS. I can always use antoerh device for exchange connectivity if I have to but hopefully this will work well for work and play.

    I have seen this unit in person and it rocks! No I’m not an insider, just a guy who likes cool stuff. I was working the other day and ran into someone who develops for SE. He had the phone pictured above! I can honestly say it was one of the most impressive phones I have seen to date! Said it was slated for (European) Feb. launch and we would get subsidized carrier versions of it likely by Summer 2010 stateside. It’s hard to tell from the pic, but that’s an 8.1 MP camera, face recognition… A lot can happen between now and then, but definately a solid device.
