Sprint HTC Hero about to get presaled at Best Buy?

Retail

We just got a heads up that the above image you see just showed up in Best Buy’s internal systems… and you know what that means? Some solid HTC Hero pre-order action happening for Sprint come September 13th. This isn’t confirmed by any means as Best Buy shots aren’t always spot on, but they provide an incredibly good general look at possible releases dates and information. Also, for your reference, the September 13th date looks to be the start of the pre-sale for the HTC Hero on Sprint at Best Buy, not the actual handset release date.

Thanks, to our Best Buy ninja!

You guys are freaking low to have some “ninja” spy break his job contract just to suit everyone else. I don’t buy things that are stolen! Do you?

I think the Hero looks like a great phone, but I do think that the android phones have to start shipping with 8gb, 16gb or higher storage in them. It’s about storage a lot of times and if that isn’t there, all the cool apps and things you can do won’t matter. Otherwise, go HTC and android, this looks good and I agree that in a couple of years, it will be a real contender in the cell phone market.

How much you wanna bet they butcher the color…? It will prolly come in an ugly grey color.

I’m going back to Android from iPhone 3GS. And Android isn’t “garbage,” I couldn’t respectfully disagree with you more. One thing though… Android has a lot of dictionary and spell check apps, though.

Just to give everybody a heads up, that picture is a fake. I work for Best Buy Mobile and the sku that is on that picture is for an LG LX295, not the Hero. I’m an avid HTC fan and I am constantly going through our systems looking for any new HTC products to hit our lineup and after seeing this post I had to check the sku number provided. Sorry to say your ninja faked you out.

Sprint does offer a one year agreement but the phone will cost almost the same price as if you did not purchase a contract at all. To get a good deal you have to take the 2 year. I have recently heard that they are going to offer a one year phone upgrade but you will have to further extend your contract.

You can’t do nonething? So you can do anything right?! Sweet, How exciting.

Writing in all caps makes you seem much smarter.

How’s the Hero web speed on AT&T? I’m thinking of getting one but not sure I could revert to 2G speeds.

They are $180.00 after an initial %50.00 rebate and then a $100 mail in rebate. The least expensive plan you can have is $70.00 a month.
    Hope that helps!

not true. I talked to a sprint rep the other day and she confirmed that the old SERO plans would work. so my $30 unlimited data, etc. plan will work on the Hero.

  • Joseph

    @ dreux

Did you get the name of the Sprint rep? I talked to a sprint rep also and they said it would only work with the Unlimited Plan and not with SERO…

  • Lou

Nice! I’ve been able to escape my AT&T iPhone contract (transfering to another person) so I can get this phone. I can’t wait!

  • Trey Earnest

No you don’t have to further extend your contract. With sprints new Simply everything plan, as long as you’re the primary holder on the account, you can upgrade your phone every year without a contract extension.

  • Trey

Yea that sprint replied. i work for Best Buy Mobile in Houston. You have to have the new Simply everything plan. Older plans will not work on the newer phone. exp. The Hero
