Samsung Rogue and Intensity to hit Verizon on September 8th

Exclusive

Need a new phone to take to college that’s easy on the wallet and relatively easy on the eyes? Then perhaps we can interest you in two new Samsung feature phones that are all set to make their Big Red debut on September 8th. First up, the u960 Rogue, which features a touchscreen display, landscape-slider form factor, full-QWERTY keypad, 3 megapixel camera, GPS and EV-DO connectivity. Next is the u450 Intensity, which has a sliding QWERTY keypad, 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth. The cost? $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate for the Rogue and $29.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate for the Intensity, both on a 2-year contract.

Thanks, goldciv!

Every Verizon employee I have spoken to in the last 24 hours seems to have no clue about these supposedly required data plans for non-smartphones, so there’s a good chance that it’s all just a lie.

    i hope is a lie

acctually.. sorry to everyone who thinks there safe because verizon aint the only one doing this cuz T-mobile, At&t, and sprint are all adding this on there phones because theyare spending money on devices for the prpose of there use and they are not getting used that way and there are losing money so other carriers are falling behind… i talked to at&t and sprint and tmobile all are following… so ur not safe…

I have been using the Rogue for a couple of days, it is very nice. I can confirm you will have to upgrade to a data package.

I just ordered this phone and had to add a data package ($9.99). I hope it is a good phone!

I just bought the phone and the data package was not required at store. Thought it was odd so I checked online and noticed that Verizon has removed the requirement to select a data package. It seems a lot of people complained and Verizon decided to remove it.

I got this phone on the 9th and at Verizon it required a data plan. And I was told it IS a smart phone. But it’s all worth it. I loveeee this phone.

I just got this phone yesterday, data plan is required, so u have to upgrade to the “connect” plan. It is a really cool phone tho, and I really like it.
