Alltel launches the BlackBerry Tour

Alltel customers in divested markets had plenty of cause to be jealous of their Verizon-owned brothers and sisters last month when Big Red launched the BlackBerry Tour 9630. Well, Alltel fans, it’s time to turn that frown upside down — Alltel has just announced the availability of RIM’s latest CDMA handset. The Tour is available immediately in Alltel stores and online for $199 on a 1-year contract after a $100 mail-in rebate. Gotta love that 2-year price on a 1-year contract. You will be required to select a Smart Choice plan, running $69.99 and up, and the Tour is compatible with Alltel’s famous My Circle calling feature. So, divested boys and girls, are you psyched that you can finally get your hands on the Tour or have you already moved on to daydreaming about the Storm 2?

    Which is better? My Bold or these Tours? My camera isn’t as good but I have wi-fi. And I use it all the time.

    But something tells me that my keyboard and screen size are better. Does anyone know for sure?

    That tip about the Q key and vibrate mode was money.

    Bought the Alltel Tour yesterday , ( Aug. 20th )
    I needed help updating the PRL’s
    They flat out refused to help me , stating I shouldn’t have that phone and I should have the Verizon version of the Tour, he also told me my phone would have no service at all sometimes between now and Oct 17th.

    Heyyy there, where were you able to get an Alltel tour?? I want one sooo bad but everytime I call *611 and ask about it they say they don’t have it and where I’m located in Michigan I wont be able to get one. If you could tell me where I could get one…I would be sooooo soo happy!!

    So, I live in wv and have no idea whether I’m divested or non divested and I want to get this phone but for my area on the alltel website it shows that they don’t have it, could I order it from an area that does have it? Or no
