Verizon kicks off new and improved BlackBerry BOGO promo

Exclusive

Guess what Verizon fans — it’s almost back to school time and you know what that means… BOGO. Yep, Verizon’s ever-successful ‘Buy one BlackBerry, get one free’ sale is back in full effect beginning today but this time around there’s a twist. No longer are you confined to a second BlackBerry for the “GO” portion of the deal. The new BOGO promo, or BOGA as they’re calling it, includes netbooks and mobile broadband devices as well. The promo applies to any Berry: Tour, Storm, Pearl Flip or whatever else floats your boat. Buy one and you can choose any other BlackBerry, netbook, PC card, USB modem or even a MiFi for free (lesser or equal value rule applies). There is a rebate involved so you’ll have to lay out some cash up front but it’s still a solid deal. This round of Berry BOGO action is all set to run through October 10th so you have plenty of time to choose your ideal BlackBerry and its ideal companion. Oh yeah, and with all the free space this promo will leave on warehouse shelves, it’s probably safe to expect a few new handsets from Big Red in the weeks following the promotion’s end. Wink, wink.

Thanks, anonymous ninja and KrazyVZW!

@WaLdO really depends on the location you visit. some franchise locations will work out a deal to have it carry across two accounts, as long as both of the accounts belong to one family/business/etc.

So let me get this straight:

My sister has an upgrade on the 22nd, and I am going to get her the tour. So then I get a netbook free with that, provided that I “add a line” for it?

Any update on this? I see BOGO but nothing for other phones, is this deal in store only?

Yes, you can get a free netbook with the purchase of her getting a tour. Also, they have changed the promotion since it intially launched. It is now buy a Blackberry get “ANY” device in store for free of equal or lesser value. So buy a Tour get anything, cause the Tour is the most expensive device they carry. Buy a storm, get a mifi, usb card, ENV touch, curve, Env3, Alias 2, etc… Also, the tags in the store are all worded very poorly where it says buy this phone get “Any” phone for free. There is no disclaimer it has to be a cheaper phone or to see a sales rep for more info, so you can probably argue and successfully get away with buying any Blackberry and getting any device for free with it. Worth a try until they change out the price tags.

Why would you buy a phone from Best Buy anyway. If you have a problem the send you to a Verizon Store to get it fixed. My Verizon Store Rep hooks me up anyway. Maybe you should try it.

I really want to see how this BOGO promo works with getting a netbook. If that is the deal, i will do it.

Sorry to break the news to you but i had not one, not two, but three of the piece of sh** tours. You can not hear on them and other people most certainly cannot here you. The reception is terrible also. I spent the week without a phone because I had no reception and I was in a coastal town without a mountain in sight. I had to use my hubbies old 3 1/2 yr old 325i. It picked up great. So for all of you raving about the tour take it for a test run and actually use it for a phone. It just plain sucks.
