LG Chocolate Touch, Samsung Omnia 2 and more headed to Best Buy on August 23rd

Exclusive

Well what have we here? Our ninjas know better than to think they can take weekends off and one of our more diligent and trusted Best Best Mobile moles just hit us with a very interesting screen cap. Sunday, August 23rd is shaping up to be a hell of a day for the mobile mega-retailer and in turn, it’s going to be a hell of a day for phone fans in general. Let’s have a look at what’s in store:

  • Samsung Gravity 2 (berry) — T-Mobile
  • Samsung Solstice — AT&T
  • LG Xenon (red) — AT&T
  • Global AirCard (G2) — Verizon
  • Samsung Rogue — Verizon
  • LG Chocolate Touch — Verizon
  • Samsung u450 Intensity — Verizon
  • Samsung Omnia 2 — Verizon
  • BlackBerry Tour — (new shipment, Sprint)

We can also see an “M330″ at the top of the screen listed as coming on September 8th and we’re guessing it’s not the clunky Samsung beast from 2002 or the Mitsubishi phone from 2003. All we know for the time being is that it’s a Samsung handset headed for Sprint, along with the Samsung Reclaim can be seen just off screen at the very top. We can’t make the date out but we know it’ll be sometime in August. Whatever… We’re to busy thinking about the possible BL40-like Chocolate Touch and Sammy’s Omnia sequel to worry about the Reclaim.

UPDATE: Hit the jump for a better shot of the list along with Best Buy location details.

Apparently none of this was true.

I guess BoyGenious is more like BoyTard…. anything for a story.. true or not.

  • Yay! You’re dumb!

For those who are new to gadget blogs, or life in general, allow me to clarify:

These are in-stock dates listed in Best Buy’s inventory system… Not launch dates. I can confirm that we received most of these shipments (two were delayed).

Where does BGR say these are launch dates? Oh yeah, nowhere.

  • Scott Huddleston

    What 2 were delayed?

Looks like the “ninja’s” were more like the beverly hills ninja… Chris Farley.

  • Agreed! So Dumb!

Now that they are in stock, when are you going to start selling them??

  • Missing O2 In Action

Checked on line and spoke to a local Verizon manager today. No Omnia II or Diamond 2 yet. Feels imminent for a sunday soon. I’m a year past my upgrade date waiting for these second generation winmo touch smartphones. Haven’t seen a definitive comparison yet. The virtual Omnia felt very good and intuitive. I like the idea of a faster processor and the battery saving AMOLED)(sp) screen on the Omnia. I kinda suspect Samsung will be more aggressive on price. Well Verizon, to be compettitive with iPhone price needs to be under $200. Then I’ll pick…..

  • Kat

I know that everyone is waiting for the Omnia II and it’s slow coming. Verizon rep said that he believes that it will be out early to late November and he will get training about 3-4 days before they sell. Like always, verizon will probably have the phone for purchase online about 1-2 weeks before the stores have them. I believe that this phone is worth the wait, so I will do so.

  • Keith

I can’t wait! You think Verizon would be pushing to get these out as they are a boon for them. They REQUIRE a $30 data plan in addition to the normal charges, I guess they think it’s a iphone? Well this one looks better than a iphone by the specs. PLEASE let me buy one or 2…..Keith
