TweetGenius grows up, rolls with the bees

BG's Corner

You might have heard of a little Twitter client called TweetGenius around these parts… Ok, maybe it’s not so little, but you know what I mean. What started out as a side project just for me (and lucky friends) to use quickly grew into a public software offering. We’ve been so blown away by the feedback and sales that we have been struggling to keep up with our original roadmap and between me and you, our roadmap is intense. Well, what’s the next step to make TweetGenius better, faster, more solid and more feature-rich? Beejive. Probably my favorite software development company for the BlackBerry and iPhone OSes, Beejive’s social messaging vision and service is the perfect partner for TweetGenius going forward.

We’re happy to partner with Beejive on TweetGenius. If you already bought a license, don’t worry — you’ll still get supported and free upgrades like we initially promised. If you haven’t however, TweetGenius is going back into closed beta until we’re ready to re-release it. Trust us, it’s going to be worth the wait. With our innovative UI and upcoming feature-set coupled with Beejive’s experience with instant communication, TweetGenius will continue to be the go to Twitter client for the BlackBerry platform. If Twitter isn’t your thing, that’s alright. You never know what else we might be working on.

I agree. I have used both and prefer Ubertwitter. Tweet Genius should have also offered a free trial period.

    Ditto.

I believe that there need to be more ways to buy TweetGenius, plus the option of Google, for example with a credit card or Pay Pal

integrate facebook, and you may actually be above sociascope, one program, and the two biggest social websites….it’s the best way to go.

Can’t wait – will Tweet Genius continue giving out updates for the closed beta to users who have already purchased software? Thanks!

@brianjking me on twitter to let me know.

Tweet Genius = fail. I tried once then tried it again only to remain an Uber Twitterer. All of your product confidence has dried up now hasn’t it?

I have both on my blackberry.. i’m looking forward to what’s upcoming.

(hopefully i don’t have to pay a 3rd time though)

I tried TweetGenius for a while and went back to UberTwitter. Frankly UberTwitter just has more features, now if I could only merge the two apps!

I read the updates, I see the tweets…holding out on me, killing me!

I prefer Ubertwitter. But then again, this is totally based on the fact that I can never get TweetGenius (paid or beta) offered to me.

To me, TweetGenius is some enigmatic hyped twitter client that I likely dont really need if its so secretive.

  • JimboJangles

I need TG nowwww! Please… UberTwitter doesn’t cut it.
Don’t listen to Roger A, he’s just mad he missed his chance to download.

I bought TweetGenius before it closed down. It’s cool, but I prefer UberTwitter as well. It slowed my curve down to the point it was unusable. I got the Tour, redownloaded it, and still noticed slowdowns. UberTwitter seems to just be a much smoother app. I’m curious to see what this TweetGenius/Beejive thing is all about, I doubt I’ma pay again tho.
