I can’t see how anyone can find this phone any good. About the only thing decent is the fact that Sony/Eric.. used to make good quality phones.

Currently they are still trying to wrap their brain around the smart phone market.

Decent enough specs, but their stubbornness to adopt anything other than their own ‘sony’ way is a pain in the butt. I’m hoping they will full heartedly adopt Android…but they are too arrogant to do that…maybe 1/2 a step towards that OS only.

  • wallyson

Man, I’d hate to say something positive and ruin the flow of things. It is a good looking phone though. Some of those specs are fantastic. Snapdragon processor on here by any chance?

I’m hoping those 3G bands listed above are for the Euros. They aren’t what I want to see for use on AT&T.

  • Eric

If SE actually brings this over here with all the goodies and not a “Let’s give the U.S. the shaft” model, I will switch carriers, because let’s face it, most likely it will come to AT&T.

  • Manzana

I do believe this will work stateside though. T-Mobile USA runs 3G on the 2100 frequency, so if anything, 3G will be compatible with T-Mobiles networks. Whether or not that is the most popular network is another debate all together.

    • tbonecopper

tmobile usa uses the aws 1700mhz band. not 2100.

the camera is on the wrong end…

  • Mr. Hi-Definition

This looks great. I wanna see a hands-on vid soon.

Super classic device now this is called iPhone killer device, Android & Xperia X3 what a revolution in cellphone industry. This actually reflects that why VoIP companies like Truphone or vopium is more focused on android clients.

    Sony Ericsson: Please, Please, Please…..

    Bring it to A U.S. carrier with 3G for $199 w/contract.

    That’s all !

  • John

I will break my iPhone on the day this phone
arrives to the US for $199 w/contract.

Why everything is so complicated and slow..?

Bring it to us.. Today.. (Before the holidays-session)

  • Ethan

Thank You, i need to look into this more, this was one of the things that was keeping me from android

  • Moose Wolfgansky

@Yo… Word kid, super tight. Hope VZW snatches this up now that they’ve lifted their ban on WI-FI and GPS!!!

  • Sonya

$100 says this phone will be over $500 with a 2 yr contract if it does hit the U.S.

  • scott e.

Maybe as low as $400. but I doubt it will here. I would love to see this on T-Mobile if they can roll out the rest of their 3G network. I can’t stand AT&T and the only reason I am there is the iPhone. If this come to T-Mobile, bye bye AT&T and iPhone.

  • anon

For all of you begging Sony Ericsson to bring it to the US. It’s not Sony Ericsson’s fault that it doesn’t bring some phones to the US. It’s the operators like AT&T, etc. with their stupid certification testing. Not all vendors have to pass it. iPhone did not, but others, get a more difficult ride from AT&T. Is it worth it to spend tonnes of money only to find out that AT&T will decide in the end not to take it? Me thinks not …

  • Mike

The big problem for the USA is that for approximately 95% of the world the USA is a niche market. This is caused by the continued desire to work outside of global standards.
Very few people use CDMA/EVDO, the 1700MHz band is only used in the US, the 1900 band in US/Canada….and so it goes on. Opting out of accepted standards is bound to cause problems!

  • Jason

    I could not agree more.
If they dont bring it to the U.S.
    Then get out!

  • Dennis

Yes Android has exchange support.. On my myTouch right now.. haven’t used it as I currently have no need.

  • Michael

guess i should be selling my htc hero soon… but rumors are around a $875 pricetag. seriously? i can get a i7 computer for that price

  • chris

this is going to be like the greatest phone
there giving it the snap dragon cpu
android! im guessing theres a slide out keyboard since its and xperia
lets hope it hits every phone company so we all can be happy

  • King Black

    @ Everyone

What’s up with all the, they will F this up if they don’t bring it to the US stuff, or SE will break up. LOL

Do you guys even know why they don’t have an agreement with some of the carriers here and just put a regular tag price on some of their phones or like this one may be with the possibility of no US release at all.

I mean it could just be them not wanting to do it, they may just think there product is like an Ashton Martin and all the other phones are just Kia’s and don’t want to have a big market for it.

Or maybe some of the carriers here are demanding specific Terms of Agreement that SE will not comply with because it may actually hamper their sales more than they should. Ever think of why some companies will throw in a special offer for a product your buying, or offer another product for free, or give you 50% off for another item while other companies won’t… Well guess what that same thing may be happening here. Yes SE has phones that you can get contracts with here in the US, but for that specific product it probably was the best thing to do for it. I mean the cost of production is not the same for all products therefore not every product can be handled the same way when it comes to contracts, sales, and advertisements.

i.e…. XBOX bundles, they come with a couple of games, but how many of those games are the newest ones that you want so bad, yes they could add COD 4 to it but that would not be the best thing to do for that product in that case it would hamper the sales of it dramatically not to mention the Terms of Agreements that may be in affect with the programmers, the production company, etc..

Let’s face it can either be SE making the call or another factor that may play a role in how the release of this product is handled. Just don’t look at everything with one-eye like a little kid does no broader thinking whatsoever.

I think the FCC needs to step up and get Uniform Bands here in the US look at the boom that this has had in Europe. You just cant go wrong.

It will happen when Hell freezes over but its nice thinking about it.

I guess if enough people complained… and I can say vast majority would support such movement considering how pro consumer it would…. yeah wishful thinking. This country is driven by not by consumers but by corporations with huge pockets… =)
