HTC Click gets spied, may bring help push Android to new demos

Rumor

Today has been a hell of a day for info and live shots of unannounced handsets and guess what… The trend continues. Above, we have our first glimpse of the upcoming HTC Click — a handset that definitely doesn’t put the “roid” in Android, but it may open up some new doors for the young OS. We’re seemingly looking at a low to mid-range handset that could potentially be priced well below current Android offerings. As such, Android could find itself falling into the handsets of a completely new demographic; a step that may be necessary if Google’s OS is to substantially increase its market share any time soon. We’ve got nothing right now as far as specs go, save for a touchscreen and an odd pad/click wheel for navigation. Hopefully we’ll get more soon but in the meantime, hit the jump for another shot.

is this twin from the htc roadmap?

I do understand how Google is trying to get its foot in the door and work its way up by starting low…. But this looks like a horrible representation of what Android should be. Put great engine in a horrible car and people will automatically assume the engine is just as craptastic as the rest of the car.

Android needs to bust down the barriers with an earth-shattering device *then* worry about market share.

If the 2nd photo had a graphic on the screen and no label, it wouldn’t look too bad.

Looks good to me. People aren’t buying those expensive cars in this economy. I can see where they’re going and why. Hooray!

Looks like Moto wins this round, if this thing’s priced like the Morrison.

doesn’t look bad at all. it will be a nice choice for people that can’ afford the hero or any of the others out there. we’ll just have to wait on further specs and price to see.
