Still having trouble scoring a BlackBerry Tour from Sprint? The wait is almost over

Retail

Following a tumultuous start, it looks like Sprint’s troubles with stocking and delivering BlackBerry Tour units are almost over. A series of three posts from Sprint’s twitter account suggest two shipments from RIM should allow the carrier to catch up with “strong demand”. One shipment apparently arrived this week and a second is scheduled for delivery early next week. Those who still haven’t been able to get their hands on RIM’s latest handset will hopefully accept Sprint’s apologies and sit tight for just a short while longer. We’re still not sure why the Tour was listed as in stock earlier this week when customers received backorder notices immediately after placing orders, but our guess is we’ll never know exactly what went wrong. The bottom line is these two Tour shipments should take care of everyone still waiting to snag a unit.

Sprint has 49M users, some estimates I have seen repeatedly in the forums on crackberry.com say that more than 30% of them are Blackberry users. If 3.5% of the 30% of Sprint users (1.05% of all Sprint users) that are Blackberry users got excited about the Tour and ordered one in the first weekend (more excitement on the Sprint side makes sense since they have gone much longer without a new Blackberry), then Sprint’s Tour demand could have outstripped Verizon’s half a million units.

VZW loves making up number and rapping them off as truth, wait for actual numbers to come out because there still isn’t an answer for where the 50% Sprint are made on Verizon’s network

Sprint is losing customers at the same rate as AT&T and Verizon are gaining them. Sprint holds on to the data users by practically giving away the service for free. Great deal for customers, but how long can they operate their business doing that?

People are just looking to keep talking down on Sprint b/c they’re vulnerable.

Why wouldn’t it be logical to think, that maybe the reason Sprint didn’t allow pre-orders was to allow for them to get a decent amount in inventory.

Plus, with Sprint having the Pre… Why would people get all excited about the Tour? Sure, there’s gonna be some BB crackberry users, who just want the latest BB; but the Tour isn’t gonna make people on Sprint go crazy trying to get one.

I guess to VZ customers’; the Tour is exciting

No WiFi in the Tour, waste of time. We need the Curve 8900.

Looks like Sprint bought one of its customer a VZ Tour and put it in a Sprint branded box. Sad!

My question is when will Bestbuy receive the BB tour for Sprint. I’m trying to wait because I hate rebates. Any info is greatly appreciated.
