TELUS launches the BlackBerry Tour, HTC Snap and Touch Pro2 coming soon

General

And just like that, yet another carrier has officially jumped in on the BlackBerry Tour action — today the honors belonging to Canada’s TELUS. The carrier is willing to let anyone and everyone get their hands on the latest sexy number from RIM provided they’re cool with dropping $229.99 and signing off on a 3-year deal. But don’t worry, those of you who are contractaphobes or just like to spend cash like it’s going out of style, because the Tour can be bought off-contract for $599.99. In other news related to the green carrier from North of the 49th, the HTC Snap and Touch Pro2 have officially been announced as coming soon. This means it’s likely that all is indeed set for the 15th and 21st of July respectively. However, considering that the TELUS launch date of the Tour has been pushed up by two days in response to Bell’s earlier than expected launch, we wouldn’t be surprised to see things for the Snap or Pro2 change at the last moment as well.

Touch Pro 2 looks like a good WinMo phone. I still wouldn’t go to WinMo though.

I called several stores today in the GTA and no one has it in stock. They said call back tomorrow to see when the shipment will arrive.
Telus said it would take 3-5 business days to arrive if I ordered it from them. FRUSTRATING!!!!!!

I must know the Verizon release date of the Touch Pro2. Can you please hook us all up, BGR?

I’m quite jealous that Telus gets to keep the original Touch Pro2 design with T-Mobile USA felt compelled to make it more juvenile UGH.

Wow I called everywhere in Toronto, and Telus in the GTA don’t have it. Released it early 2 days but can’t get it yet. The wait is killing me!

The $429 must have been a typo. I see $229 which is better than Ma Bell.

Stores here in Edmonton are saying they’ll have the Tour on Wednesday the 15th – the original launch date.

  • Captain Apollo

This is nothing more than a paper launch by Telus. When you launch a damn product you should have it in the store!

I called a bunch of stores this morning, and they had no idea about the tour, I suggested the release date of the 15th and they told me to check on thursday because they get shimpments on tuesday and thursday. Boo. :(
