New images of Sony Ericsson Rachael and Kiki surface along with a Rachael UI video

Exclusive

Heads up SE fans! A tipster just dropped us a lead on some new shots (and a video) of the mouth watering Sony Ericsson Rachael and the plant watering Sony Ericsson Kiki — which means were dropping them on you. We last heard about these two handsets late last week and since then we have to be honest… The Rachael has been on our minds non stop. Android, Snapdragon, 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus, 7.2Mbps HSDPA and 3D graphics capabilities? Yeah we need it. As for the Kiki, mmm, it’s unique. Hit the jump for the new renderings along with a video supposedly depicting SE’s own UI sitting atop the Android-powered Rachael. We’re not going to lie — it’s pretty sexy.

Thanks, Funky!

Meanwhile, back at the Farm, Nokia is still milking S60 and sticking “5th edition” labels over the 2006 sell-by date…

That is downright sexy. If ever there was a competitor to the iPhone, this is it.

Too bad it will be on a GSM provider stateside. Shitty reception and or sold alongside the iPhone. Like I’ve mentioned before, make this phone CDMA and put on Verizon and you couldn’t make enough of them. Too bad, so sad.

This and/or the Hero (whichever actually comes to AT&T) will be what makes me toss my blackberry in the garbage.

Rim take notice of what is going on outside your offices. The crappy Bold/Tour/Onyx isnt going to cut it anymore.

    Good point b1gg13.

Although Blackberry is known for their overall solid design and good functionality, they are going to lose the war. Smart phones are getting sexy and BB is going to be stuck in the dust with the likes of the Bold and Tour.

Nokia better bail on symbian OS. it sucks.

At 1:03, it seems David Webham is gay, I’m not homophobic, It just seems like pretty un-orthodox marketing.

  • grrr

    just saw the vid…

now i reallyz wants the rachael!

Sony no longer uses M2 cards in phones. Only use micro sd now. :-) .

  • Sprint User

Sprint needs to fix the service aspect, as in better phone reception, more towers… Then make a new phone. THeir 4G better be here and im talking QUICK, cause i WILL SWITCH NETWORKS if 1.) their service doesnt improve, 2.) Their Phones dont improve (i heard PalmPre dies 3 times a day) 3.)They dont atleast provide fast internet. If they can just do 3. then i’ll have no choice but to keep Sprint, and personally i Love their website and customer service. Its just the shitty phones and the fact i have no service at my house! Samsung BTW sux monkey butt. I hate their cheap phones…

    @ I’M IN LOVE
You are absolutely right. I am surely gonna ditch my iPhone for this sexy handset. its so cool.

to be frank i was about to buy HTC Touch HD, now that i have seen this one. i am now with my iPhone and will get this one as soon as its available. But i am sure it is going to be very very costly :(

No CDMA version + Hefty price tag = Fail in U.S.

that video is fake. first off the ui looks really made-up and unprofessional. the buttons are way too small and the whole thing is just ugly and seems really made-up. second if you notice the conversation with that david guy you see that they are talking about how lucky he is for having such a great boyfriend. i don’t think they would put a gay convo in a demo video.

@tympg – SE have had MicroSD support since the k850i…

@carnero – There apparently won’t be a 3 or 4 X model because both of these numbers have bad vibes. There is another interview around the net somewhere in which they admit to an X2 and an X5. However I hope they don’t call Rachael the X5 because there’s no way I will buy a phone with the same name as a crap car.

@CanisMajor – LMFAO!! It seems Ericsson have come a long way since their original involvement in Symbian’s inception. Nokia just bought it, played with it, ruined it and sold it back…

@Joe – no, it’s not an iphart competitor. The only phone to compete with an iphart is an iphart. There is no other phone designed to do what it does. It’s an ipod with a phone thrown in. Check out Sony’s latest X series walkman range – it’s designed with audiophiles in mind, whereas the ipod is designed with crApple’s vast following of sheep in mind. Some might say the ipod/iphart look good (I’m not one of those people) but the audio quality is sheyite, even with Etymotic buds.

@zach – it’s not even a pre-production – never mind pre-release – so the interface will only be badly written and cobbled together to show what it’s likely able to do. GSMArena did a review on the new Aino (which as a PS3 owner I am very tempted by) and their pre-production model crashes and has bits that don’t yet work properly. It’s just to show what things are going to be like. The final pre-release models will be highly polished and ‘as-per-retail’. Keep the faith, because if the Rachael is as good as it’s looking so far, this will be one incredible phone based on an operating system that is long overdue. Forget the new Windows Mobile, Android is the way to go.
