also got the E75…”upgrading” from an N95 8GB. As much as I email from my phone, as well as text, facebook and twitter, a QWERTY keyboard was a dealbreaker…

am i the only 1 freaked out that they are still selling the e63 and the n95? this isnt 2006 anymore.

  • HillBill

Nokia is testing the pricing waters. Expect a permanent price reduction for E75 in the coming weeks.

  • alejovh1

    Got the n97 for $529 :)

    Posted from BGR Mobile (iPhone).

  • wallyson

Well, I went on there for an E75 and they only had red, the black was on backorder. :( I figured by the time I got the phone in 4-6 weeks something else might pop up to tempt me.

as nokia continues to hose its so-called customers and BG refuses to show outrage at $700-600 for a phone. Bought and paid for is the correct term.

For purposes of disclosure,, how many nitwits at
BG own one of these monstrosities?

    I am guessing none.

    @ Frank,
All GSM devices work on TMobileUSA, but no non-branded devices work on TMobileUSA’s 3G frequencies yet. You can only get EDGE data speeds unless using WiFi. This seems a bad deal, but speaking from experience, the power and features of Nokia smartphones outweigh the slower data speed. If you have wifi access, it’ll be better to choose a Nokia over a Blackberry or iPhone. Maybe an Android device, but until they come with better hardware, they can’t be heavily considered.

    @ kayos,
As weird as it seems, the N95 STILL outperforms the iPhones, Blackberries, Android, and WinMo devices of today. There isn’t one single feature, function, or trick those phones can pull off the N95 can’t, but plenty of tasks it can do that no other device can.

It multitasks, takes photos and video, plays music, and makes calls better than anything available, which is why its one of the best selling devices even today. People who know will tell you. America missed out on the great phenomenon of the N95, but I didn’t.

    @ RESO8HAO,
Many people like myself that travel and prefer a device that works in multiple countries and on various networks choose unlocked devices, and the best of them are usually $550-$750, and a few are upwards of $1200.

Getting freedom from single carrier coverage is NOT unwise, but a luxury most hard working consumers can appreciate. Being too poor to afford an unsubsidized device isn’t our fault. Get your weight up, hustler!

I wear an expensive watch as well, much better than your Timex, too, but to each his own. Enjoy less features, freedoms, and capabilities in your subsidized iPhone, Razr, or Instinct. I prefer the best, and pay the going rate to do so. Don’t hate, participate, imitate, or congratulate.

People with BMWs didn’t get “hosed”, they got “what they wanted”. I doubt many Honda owners really wanted the Honda. They all really wanted a BMW, just like you want this N97. Just ask Santa and stop crying like a broke ass baby…

A Rolex? BMW? You’re really cool.

Must be new money. New money loves to brag about how successful they are. Assuming you’re the real deal.

For all your toys and bravado, you show a lack of class. Classy people don’t yell “hey look at me” the way you do. Less arrogance would suit you better.

    Conrad Hernandez.

Unsubsidized devices are nothing new and not something everyone can afford, especially here in the US as everyone pretty much lives on contracts. Contracts allow for cheaper phones but also more carrier influence on what the phone can and can’t do. Take your pick.

I would kill for an E75 unsubsidized but I do work for AT&T and it makes it hard to sell phones when I don’t carry an AT&T device.

    @ Conrad Hernandez,
First off, I don’t have a Rolex, but a Tag Heuer, and was only making a point. In fact , although I’m a lover of fine automobiles, I’m not rich by any means. I just sold my Audi A6 to cover costs with a legal problem (could’ve used ya, Connie… Nice site, by the way.), and have no car, apartment, or job at all at the moment. I’m a struggling, unemployed, hard working part time tech blogger that records a little music on the side. I live with my mother as of last month, and I’m 33 years old. No shame in my game.

That being said, I’m still proud of what little I have accomplished, and display it as humbly as I can. My car, phone, or other material things mean little compared to the respect I have in the tech community, as many will tell you.

I was speaking to that particular person tongue in cheek. I find it amusing that people are offended by those that can afford high end items. Americans have no clue about unsubsidized device cost. I paid $715 for my Nokia N90, and $1325 for the HTC Advantage, and never felt I was cheated. You get what you pay for, and when anyone compares the iPhone or a Blackberry to a flagship Nseries model, I’m appalled, as they do so much less.

But again, to each his own. $700 is not high to me for a class leading device. Its expected.

Contracts allow for cheaper phones? Not in my book.

The higher data charges and the contract are ADDED costs, and the inability to change carriers is a hindrance, not a cost saving feature. For me, unlocked saves me money.

Since 2006, I’ve used unlocked devices, always top of the line, and always without contract. I save alot this way.

Consider me put in my place.

    I sincerely take it back.

    Very Truly Yours,

    @ christexaport

Completely agreed. But alot of people don’t see it that way and only focus on the upfront cost.

  • tino

i just recently bought my first unlocked phone early this year, as i rock my nokia E 71…i dont have to renew my contract w/tmo, since none, and i mean none of their phones match up to what my nokia can do. Its the complete phone i’ve always wanted. Yes i paid high dollar for it and well worth it. I cant wait for the E72

  • detest53

I bought a e71 @ best buy. What a pretty phone! But only 2.5 headphone jack? And my emails were hodge podge.

And the symbiote os learning curve was too much for yours truly, so…

BG did a 71 vs. Bold showdown. Bold won. I think.

  • etaber

To each his own, christ-complex says, under the figleaf of supremely arrogant superiority. What suits you cannot be extrapolated to apply to anyone else, yet your universal claims are spewed forth regardless. Like most early-30s punks, you haven’t learned jack about life … yet.

  • naypalm

Isnt the BB Bold the phone with a 2.9MB email attachment limit?????

  • uncle Bernie

I don’t care if every sweat shop working asian has one, or every herring eating dane has one-nokia is not a player in america and never will be.
the iphone rules and I will never buy a finnish fone.

  • Jarred

If you say so man…..***rolls eyes***

A closed mind will never learn…

  • rich
