Sprint HTC Snap gets unboxed

Exclusive

Believe it or not, there is actually more than one Sprint handset being launched this weekend. No, seriously! Right on schedule, the HTC Snap has touched down in Sprint stores across the country and your pals at BGR decided to share a few quick unboxing pics. Courtesy of one of our ninjas, behold Sprint’s iteration of the Snap. Sure the pictures are a little blurry and sure it’s hard to get excited about the Snap when the Pre launch is the day before, but business users may be happy to see a pure business handset as it gets ready for lift off this Sunday. Hit the jump for a few more shots including a size comparison with the BlackBerry Bold.

Why is the space bar off-center? Looks retarded…lol

LOL! That’s a Best Buy Mobile desk for sure!

I fail to understand why they dropped the trackball for a dpad. Also why did they intentionally make the keyboard more cramped than the GSM Snap? Very odd.

I am considering it even tho it doesnt have a touchscreen, But it will have to be under $99 after rebate. otherwise I’m waiting for an Instinct 2. Unless the Instinct 2 costs the same as a Pre…If thats the case Pre it is.

HTC has made some nice devices but they are ruined by being Windows Mobile. Why not Android?? Maybe we could get the Blackberry OS on it?

Now, I’m looking for a simple qwerty phone with texting, so the Blitz and the dash are ideal for my needs. But the Snap looks like what I might really want.

Seems like a cool device, unfortunately it’s running Windows Mobile. Windows is the worst mobile phone OS ever made, it’s pathetic and completely unsupported by Microsoft and the carriers who provide it. The only hope this phones will realize its full potential lies in the hands of hackers who build functional versions of the OS and publish them for free on the internet.
