BlackBerry Tour hits Bell, kind of

Exclusive

We just got these lovely photo snaps from one of our Bell ninjas. It’s official promo material from Bell, and big surprise, no release date listed. However, these do list the specs (which we’re all very, very aware of), but we’ll post them up for those of you wishing June 6th never comes:

  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, UMTS/HSDPA 2100MHz band only
  • GPS
  • 480×360 display
  • 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash, image stabilization
  • Video recording
  • QWERTY keyboard
  • OS 4.7.1 but possibly OS 5.0 at launch

Couple more shots after the jump!

mb00… similar but has bold style keyboard instead of curve style that the 8900 has.

Thank you for posting this. It continues to provide me hope that this will be released in the near future. I hope VZW doesn’t get some silly exclusivity deal preventing Sprint in getting it quickly. I always appreciate these posts.

    Cheers!

U know its annoying when people BITCH about wifi and curse out carriers ESPECIALLY canadian ones. last time I checked RIM made the phone NOT carriers. so if u wanna bitch go contact rim

    Glansburgh…

Why is it anytime there is a hint of Verizon you feel the need to come in and post ONCE and each one mentions something about Verizon “crippling” their phones? Everyone knows you don’t like Verizon and how you feel about their phones. Keep hatin

    @joetour
Wasn’t saying one is better than other, I know Vzw has better coverege here in in NY or probably most of US, but tour doesn’t have wifi and that’s big in my opinion.

  • TRACKBALL = FAILURE

just played with a telus tour mule, the trackball is IMPOSSIBLE to click as it is no longer recessed – apparently to give chicks with long nails a better chance to click as they couldn’t with a recessed trackball. ATTENTION – this device is clearly targetted by RIM at CHICKS! If you have a guy’s thumb, pressing the trackball simply buries it into your thumb instead of actually clicking!

I just called a bell store..they said mid june or end of june for blackberry tour

  • celz

@ trackball equal failure- i can assure you the release version wont have that problem.. rim knows how to make track balls..

  • Rono

Trackball – if it’s a store phone, seriously, who knows what has been done to it by customers, and heck it might not even be a fully functional phone to begin with since the Tour still isn’t “really” out. Not one other person who has gotten a unit has mentioned a problem like this, so other than trolling, whats your point?

Bell is actually going to be launching a gsm network. This is why the specs show the gsm info.

  • Patch

It kills me about all you crybaby’s and your WiFi. Why must you cry and complain bout not being able to get an unsecure and free web service? Cheapskates. People that desire WiFi are nothing but freeloaders in my opinion. VZW has a mandatory data package for a reason…love it, leave it or die

  • Mathieu

Well do your homeworks. It’s a quad band phone so it can you CDMA in North America and a SIM card for other countries (GSM)

  • JoeTour

Is it just me, or did anybody notice @ the bottom “for a full list of features visit http://www.blackberry.com/Tour. Its odd that on “internal material” which is basically memo’s for the employees, would reffer you to a none-existent site. Isn’t it? I mean this is’nt “promo” literature for the potential consumer.

  • duhh

They can put up the site on an address which I’m quite sure they own eg http://www.blackberry.com/Tour AT ANY TIME THEY WISH just because there is nothing there yet doesn’t mean there won’t be.

  • Andreas

My contract with Bell is up and now with so many new phones available from the diff carriers.

what to do what to do……..the tour looks really good though.

  • Crunch

It’ll be hard to beat the Bold. Love the 8900′s looks, it’s super light, but once again, no 3G is a no-go. HSPA @ 7.2Mbps will be interesting.

The Magnum will be the one for me.

  • Dylan Corriveau

Am i the Only one finding that the tour website is not there?

  • Bob Smith

    Its a WORLD phone!
