Sprint's HTC S511 Snap makes an appearance on Best Buy website

Retail

A week prior to its rumored June 7th debut, the Sprint version of the HTC Snap, (aka HTC Willow aka HTC Cedar) has made an appearance on Best Buy’s website. All the glorious details are there, including a few stock photos and a $519 out of contract price tag. Expect Sprint to make this handset official sometime this week along with actual pricing and availability. One word of caution for any n00bs out there, if you head over to Sprint on the 7th to pick up a Pre and it is out of stock, don’t let them sell you the Snap instead. This baby is for Motorola Q lovers looking for a boost, not potential Pre owners.

Thanks, Brandon!

What gives Telus usually is the first with htc devices. They got the Diamond, Touch Pro and even the P4000 (Mogul to Sprint users) way before anyone else.

Moto Q lover here checking in and this thing is definitely right up my alley, but damn, no 3.5mm jack. I think I’ll probably still get this though. Maybe Touch Pro 2 but probably not.

I want to see what’s to that Ace II, if it looks like the Q9c clone Ozzy Osbourne is pimping

Good advice for noobs. Don’t get caught in the re-direct.

I don’t think noobs come here though.

It really depends what you use your phone for.

If you do a lot of texting and email, the Snap would be a better phone.

I’m using the iPhone right now and it’s cool for looking at photos and impressing the kids with tapping games but not much else

The screen is WAY too small. Pass!

Sprint should have kept the original HTC design!!

So it’s between Sprint/Palm’s last attempt for salvation (Palm Pre) or a Windows Mobile phone.. I’ll pass

    It is ugly.

    Excellent contribution, Nicole.

I for one will be considering a Snap for SERO renewal since the Pre is not eligible..I would wait around for the TP2 but it seems to have the same brick-like qualities of the Tilt/TP1.

It’d be nice if HTC would have make the Snap more akin to the Palm Centro…the length, girth and keyboard are on track but it needs to have a bigger screen with touch functionality. A 3.5mm jack doesn’t hurt either.

    I’m hoping for a $99 price point.

Anyone know if the Snap will be WM 6.5 compatible..?

    @Damon

    +1

  • Jack

I believe I read somewhere that the Snap would be eligible for the 6.5 upgrade. If not, someone on HowardForums will figure out how to get 6.5 on there.

I have seen and used many different phones with a variety of mobile operating systems. I haven’t seen this exact phone yet, but I can tell you that the technical features and long history of stability with the strong promise of a great future, windows mobile is a good purchase for me personally. I like to know things are going to stay around for a while when I make a purchase and the features of windows mobile phones are more than most.
