BlackBerry Storm OS 4.7.0.141 fails Verizon Wireless testing

Don’t consider myself looser just recently picked up the storm seams to work fine a couple of issues nothing i wasn’t able to skate through although i don’t expect it to take it deep like your wife Uncle Bernie after all its just a phone… 69ed lately how do i taste!! still wearing those open toe sandals so people wont notice you taking them off to count above 10…

So the beta software is out and working…i am thinking of moving from my LG Dare to a BB and considering the storm vs the curve. What do you think? Is it worth the risk. I have used curves before so i am comfortable with them.

buddy I would like to test that version. I have the 122 and have had no issues at all. NONE. I have many of my customers on the 122 and they too love it. I would for sure like to try the hybrid OS. We are moving too slow for these updates. I dont think it will get to perfect but 122 has been gret for me and my users (about 400 of them)

IF YOU ARE USING THE STANDARD OS “YOU ARE EITHER A REDNECK (NO OFFENSE) OR A TOOL. JUST UPDATE TO AT LEAST THE 122 OS FROM BELL. IT IS IN CRACKBERRY FORUMS. THE UPDATE WORKS GREAT AND I HAVE MANY USERS THAT REALLY LIKE THE DEVICE NOW THAT THEY HAVE THIS UPDATE. YOU CANT COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS DEVICE UNLESS YOU ARE AN IMPATIENT PRICK. tHE SCREEN IS SMOOTH, THE COLORS ARE TIGHT. THE APPS ARE GETTING BETTER AND BETTER EACH MONTH AND THE SURE PRESS (WHEN ITS SET TO 100,100, SENS TO 5 MAKES THE PHONE FLY WHEN TEXTING. LITTLE HARD TO FIX MISTAKES WHILE TYPING BUT SURPRESS SPELL CHECKS THE WORD AS YOU TYPE. I USE THE STORM EVERYDAY FOR FULL WORK HEAVY EMAILS AND PP,EXCEL,WORD DOCS ETC AND THERE IS NOTHING TO IT. THE IPHONE WISHES IT COULD DO WHAT STORM DOES. AND YES THE NETWORK IS FAR BETTER THAN AT&T’S WE ALL KNOW THAT. VZW WANTS THE OS TO BE SOLID, IS THAT SO WRONG?? I have been through the Blackberries and I have had all of them and now i have the storm and it drops calls as well as freezing up. I am handicapped in my right shoulder and hand and they still would not give me another brand phone as the screen is so hard to push that I can’t do it. And to delete a message then you should forget it because it an’t happening. they treated me like a dog because I was white and all the store clerks were black also and they were going to caall the law on mme when all I wanted was to change the phone for a Voyager that would be easier to push. I wish I had never seen Verizon Wireless.

I actually called into Verizon blackberry support last night and asked the poor guy on the phone “I want to buy a blackberry storm which does not require a battery to be pulled out daily and a reboot to work” he responded “We dont have that” and even they acknowledge that they went to market to fast on this phone. I was at Interop last week in vegas- and if the Canadian product manager would have been there- I would have taken him into the womens restroom and made him scream like a little girl as I beat the crap out of him in the name of the 100s of people I know which are suffering daily through these issues- reboots, slowness, 5 seconds to even pull up the phone screen- random “dialed call failed excemption” errors. I mean serious- this phone BLOWS>

The storm is getting bitch slapped and I wonder if its just from disgruntled ATT emps? Not in the biz, but have the storm – picked it up 2.5 mos ago and the phone (for what I use it for) is great. I use it to make calls and email/text. There isn’t a better intuitive keyboard out there from what I have tried. Iphone has lots of apps if you want a phone that gives you lots of apps….I don’t particulary care for that….I have the apps I use (Pandora, Slacker, Calorie Counter), but I seldom use those. Wouldn’t trade the keyboard for any other. Freezing? Crashing? Maybe I got one of the good ones, but no issues. Great Phone.

I have used the
blackberry Curve , I can’t think of a phone with such poor useage as the
Storm. If I had it to do over again I would never have purchased the Storm . I wish someone could tell be how to make Verizon void my contract with them . I would change in a flash.

once again stop the crying, I have had the 122 version for over 2 months and use more than 12,000 minutes a month and emails and many other app usage and the device has worked for over 2 months with no battery pulls, no glitches, no issues besides a very small amount of lag from port to land mode. Get off the standard OS and try one of the Bell 122 and even the 148 is ok except to locking of your phone is different. I still think 122 is the best so far and I have over 500 users on it. You need a little patience and make sure you set the keypad settings to 100 , 100, 5 (tap ,tap, sensitivity) These are the best setting for typing. If you are having issues with typing you could have a bad touch screen. If you still cant get the hang of it , well need I call names here? MORON.
You always have 30 days to return a device ALWAYS. That is plenty of time to figure out if you can love or just live with a device. The new updates are coming very soon, VZW was not happy with the locking issue for 148, and for use corp users that is HUGE!! Also important not to butt dial as well. MAny BB’s coming and lay off the Storm. MAny of us how really use it (not just as a toy or Ipod) really love the device. Sure things can be improved but it is a work horse for myself and many of my customers. Go Big red!!

I received a wirless upgrade on my new storm so i installed it. Now i can’t lock the phone if i do and press one of the keys it unlocks the screen again. The other thing i discovered is that when i try to changed my ringtones alert tones etc, when i select one before you got a sample of it now i don’t hear nothing and if i press try it button all i get is vibration now sound. Blackberry do not seem to be doing anything to inform us users what they are doing about it and you can’t contact them. Very frustrating. Talk to us Blackberry

• A change in functionality was made so that the device will not wake up from sleep mode when pressing the touch screen while the device is locked, the user needs to press either the Lock key or any of the 4 hard keys (Send, Menu, Back or End) at the bottom of the device to wake up the device. This change was made to address concerns about accidental touch screen presses waking up the device which could potentially result in shortened battery life.

since i upgraded to v141 if i try to change my ring or message alert tones and highlight them i used to hear a quick example of the tones and when selected press the try it button to hear what it sounds like. now when i highlight i hear nothing and when i press the try it now button all i get is vibration no sounds of the tones so i don’t know what the tones sound like to select the one i want this has happened to since downloading the upgrade

the message alerts and tones will be fixed in the next update. Be happy with what we have now. Are you the one that would complain if someone gave you a $100 bill because it was bent in half? Lets look at the positives here. new OS , better features, faster response, way less battery pulls. By the way always do a battery pull (actually pull the battery out, not use an app) after installing a new OS.

since i installed wireless upgrade 141 i can’t hear my ringtones anymore when i want to select them. i have been told this will be fixed in the next upgrade but when will that be. The most frustrating thing about Blackberry is that they don’t have a direct contact with thier tech department are they afraid of people bombarding them with emails about releasing faulty upgrade in the first place

Last week Verizon released .148 for the CrapBerry Storm. Why don’t u try that? or Just throw the PoS away and get a real smart phone that works.

According to PreCentral.com vzw is has an internal document saying this is better than the Pre, kind of funny they want to pour salt on a device coming to them shortly.

I think we all should stand up against the phone companies. I’m tired of them blaming who makes them. They say they test them so well before letting us as a customer are able to get them. All I have seeing everytime I go to get a new phone it has problems. were stuck with the bill. Running round for them to get a service that I’m paying for. I’m tired of paying for a service and doing there leg work to have it work right. If they have a phone that works I would like to know. I say let’s stand because we as a custermer are getting screwed. Verizon wireless needs to stop selling people bad phones. Stop making us work for you unless your going to pay me for my services.

This is THE worst mobile I’ve ever owned. Anyone that likes this piece is either a fanboy or a crackhead.

Half the time I’m starring at a twirling clock, and that’s after having removed ALL my applications and following the guides to clean memory, etc., etc.

I almost shoved this phone down the Verizon reps throat when he got smart with me. Bottom line is this is my first and last BB purchase.

I found the BlackBerry Storm should have never been put out to the public . It has give me a very bad tast for BlackBerry and Verizon.
I don’t feel it can be make to work
In my mind I feel BlackBerry and Verizon should refund all money paid for the piece of junk .
