Slacking reaches new heights: Winners of BGR's free Slacker Radio Plus giveaway

Software

We knew we had a few slackers in our audience and sure enough, you guys blew us away with some pretty remarkable levels of slackerdom. For those who missed it, Slacker celebrated its recent million-download milestone by throwing some free one-year Slacker Radio Plus subscriptions our way to dole out. We decided to hand them out to a select few who take slacking to a whole new level, and here are the winners:

  • Tomnia, who is such a slacker it took him an hour just to build up enough motivation to leave a comment. Even then, he couldn’t be bothered with punctuation or proper sentence structure.
  • Definitive, who can’t muster the energy to perform too many tasks in a single day so he decided to enter the contest rather than go to work.
  • Nathan, who is so lazy he couldn’t even browse away from BGR and needed us to do his web browsing for him. By the way buddy, you’re looking at rain all week long down in VA Beach.

Congrats to our insanely lazy winners and a big thanks to everyone who entered. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of chances to win more great stuff from your pals here at BGR in the future.

UPDATE: Slacker loved the entries so much, they decided to choose three more lucky commenters to receive a free one-year subscription to Slacker Radio Plus each! Congrats, shika, poor and pjacoby!

    I love slacker radio it is a pleasure to find most of my requests if not all. latin, French, etc great the only problem is that it stops in the middle of a song, switch I have to start over. is it because i have the free copy not the unlimited one?

    Slacker is great, and until recently it was perfect for the blackberry in the since that it was the only viable internet radio service for blackberry. The only problem is a better service is now available. IMHO Pandora has a much better service. If anyone is interested, give it a try http://www.pandora.com

    Congrats to the winners – I will have to keep my eye out for another crack at this, or just buy it for myself I guess :)

    I tried Pandora as well, but it didn’t sound nearly as good as Slacker and I quickly grew tired of having to search for stuff to play music, I mostly listen to the category stations on Slacker, when is the next giveaway BGR?!? I need me some infinite skips :-}

    I’ve also tried both Slacker and Pandora on my Storm. Pandora is a cute little app but it just doesn’t seem to have anywhere near the selection of Slacker. Slacker’s alternative stations are great. Sound quality was WAY better on the Slacker app too – not even close.

    I have been a long time user of Pandora and several other music services. A month ago I bought a portable Slacker. In my estimation its library is about 80% or slightly more there. At least in my favorite genre’s of New Country, Alt. Country, Texas/Okla Red Dirt Country, Renegade Country. I can’t really speak to other genre’s. However a service that absolutely has never failed to find an artist that I was searching for is LastFM.com. If you have a portable device that can access this service I highly recommend it and of course Slacker.com and Pandora.com………..my top 3 in that order.

    Good Listening
