T-Mobile Sidekick LX announced, hitting shelves May 13th

Not that big of a secret but finally made official at the stroke of midnight, T-Mobile’s Sidekick line-up finally gets a much needed refresh. It’s been covered a bunch before but here are the major selling points (or just random lines of text you can ignore):

  • A stunning 3.2″ 854×480 resolution Sharp F-WVGA screen
  • Integrated Facebook MySpace and Twitter (finally!)
  • GPS support! Live Search is now GPS-powered, too
  • 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with improved video capabilities
  • Microsoft Exchange support
  • T-Mobile 3G/HSDPA
  • Other really cool stuff you don’t know about

The new Sidekick LX will go on sale May 13th nationwide for $199 on a two year agreement. There are two color choices, the first being carbon and second is orchid which is after the break! Anyone interested?

    I am glad they do not have a touch screen! I have had them and I am not impressed! I have had the Sidekick 3 for 2 years and although I am ready for the upgrade in technology I love the Sidekick!!!!!!

    – actually to access the myspace page via the web is free you can easily type http://www.myspace.com in the brower and myspace now recognizes that u are on a mobile device and asks u if u want the mobile version or the actual page. Now, the SDK offers an app that makes accessing the website easier to view ur messages and photos, etc. but u dont have to pay for anything, unless u want the app, but u dont really need it.

    All you people talk about is touch screen this, touch screen that , personally I hate touch screens not eeryone likes them …I’d much rather the physical keyboard …tather then tapping a touch screen , it just doesn’t feel right to me …I don’t think I will get into touch screens , tried the G1 for two days and wetn back and returned it so I could go back to my lx…can’t wait for this new lx though sooo much better! You people just need to get thorugh your heads that not eeryone wants a touch screen phone!

    I got the LX 09 on 5/12 & I’m seriously thinking about returning it.

    I went from a SK 3 to this because I thought it was worth it but it really wasn’t. The keyboard is hard to type on (I’m using it now) and the battery life SUCKS !

    I live in a 3G area with full bars & the web is just as fast as the SK 3.

    Yes, its nice to stream music and watch Youtube but it kills the battery also.

    My SK 3 has better battery life and I probably would have finished typing this already (on the 3) but my hands hurt (on the 09)…

    Also, it took a few months for the rubber to peel off of the battery cover on my SK 3 but on my LX 09, it started to peel off on the 2nd day.

    I’m also considering getting an LX 07 after I return the 09. I love my SK 3 but all of the buttons on the right side are missing and I’m ready to upgrade.

    I’m a loyal Sidekicker (since the II) but I’m getting tired of being toyed with because of it.

    GIVE US LOYAL USERS MORE FOR OUR MONEY !

    I know the LX 09 wasn’t their best attempt. AIM higher…because this wasn’t good enough.

    it’s a good phone for texting and stuff with the qwerty keyboard etc buht it’s kinda the same as the other sk’s so what’s the point. and what’s so great about touchscreens? everyone’s just trying to copy the iphone gawd. i like the sk and in august i’m going to HOPEFULLY get the orchid sidekick lx 2009 LOL since i can’t get the iphone :(

    I agree, the phone looks great but if the OS doesn’t change its look and the apps dont get better ( or more use full ) this will definitely be my last sidekick
